Hughton Walks from Birmingham

Birmingham City have confirmed that newly appointed manager Chris Hughton has resigned from his post at St Andrew's. It is understood that the Hughton is take a take a 'long break' from football to spend time with his Family. The news has frustrated the Chairman and Fans alike, as the Blues now have to find a new manager, to help them prepare for their first European campaign since 1961.

Phillips retires from football

Former Sunderland and Birmingham striker Kevin Phillips announced that he has retired from football, to kick start his career in management. Phillips has played at many good clubs in England, but the striker believes he's ready to become a Manager.

This news comes just hours after Chris Hughton announced his resignation as Birmingham City manager.

Birmingham Unveil Kevin Phillips as Manager

Birmingham City President Carson Yeung has said he is delighted to welcome recently retired Kevin Phillips as the club's new manager. Phillips had stated his eagerness to start a career in management, and what better place to start than a team he used to play for.

Mr Yeung said that Birmingham are looking to become a fighting force in English football in the coming years, and believes Phillips is the man that could help achieve this.

Phillips is expected to announce a press conference very soon.
