Because he is more inconsistent than Boro. Scoring one good goal doesn't make him good. Plus he was probably on 40k+ a week. As Sam said before, couldn't handle the football over here, gave away to many freekicks and also balooned in weight in first season here. He was not giving as much to Boro as Boro were to him, i.e. wasn't playing as if he deserved 40+k a week.

Has the quality, boro fans very rarely saw it. Wouldn't of minded keeping him but would of expected better.

Agreed with Gook and Mendi.

yeah he is good if you watch him sometimes but he just doesnt suit the english game.

he has recently been done for drink driving and is often spotted in the local casino with mendieta so good riddance if you ask me

i think Fabio will do well if he goes back to spain or portugal but just could not cut it here

Fair enough. I never saw him much so couldn't really judge.

Makes sense if he was on 40k a week aswell. only thing that puzzled me was Southgate saying that was his best season for ya, then releasing him :s

he has been seriously **** this season though, saying its his best season for us isnt saying much believe me....

he cant really pass, gives away loads of fouls and gets booked, very rarely scores, constantly tries passing with his shoulder...

its no big loss believe me id rather get him off the wage bill and get the two positions sorted weve needed for years, a really creative goalscoring box to box attacking midfielder and a RIGHT WINGER, not a right midfielder or putting george ****** boateng out there a proper pacey winger , a downing on the right - benltey would be ideal but im not stupid enough to think hed come to us but you get my drift, maybe look abroad , that riga is meant to be good
