Does anyone use 'Runs From Deep'? I never use it because my strikers were always played offside. Is there a way of making it work?

They are useful for wingers and poacher.
You shouldn't have a slow striker running from deep since he's supposed to be up front to get through balls.

yes :) have 1 St who never does and drops deep into the pocket, then another who is quick and agile who does it often while "moving into channels"

I have one attacking Cm who does this too :) and the other Dm who sits back in the pocket :) very useful tweak if done correctly :)

Yeah I use it for wingers sometimes, but not poachers. I manage Spurs and have tried Defoe running from deep, but he gets himself offside a ridiculous amount of times. Since then I've never used it, with any striker.

What does it actually do other than the obvious, like can you give an example ?

think of Hernandez when Rooney gets the ball in the centre of the park and looks up :)

Well in real life it would involve a striker/midfielder making a run from a deep position to where the ball is, he carries on his run through the static defence and the ball is played over or through the defence for him to carry his run onto the ball and clean through on goal. That how I see it anyway.

So they start behind the ball then burst through on goal with the ball or running on to it ?
I always thought it meant arriving late to the area like Lampard

Its like an extra attacking option like so one player is further up the field while the other is in possession so he can play the one further up field player through on goal. Atleast i think its like that.

I use it for wingers and attacking midfielders, however not for attackers. As has been mentioned, I kept finding my players we're offside. And rather than attempting to overhaul my attackers tactics, I simply removed it and left it to the midfielders to run from deep

I don't think it works that well with midfielders, well not in the way I would like. I use it sometimes with an attacking midfielder, but it only seems to get them playing higher up the pitch, not making runs through the defence like Lampard.
