The Meeting

"I wake up in the morning, have myself a nice cup of coffee with a slice of toast before checking my mobile and notice that Ed Woodward had called me. After this I call Ed Woodward back and have a conversation in regards to my position at Manchester United, he asked me to visit his office where the discussion would go further."

"My drive to work was ok apart from a thousand things running through my brain as to what was going on at Old Trafford and why Ed Woodward wanted to speak to me so bad, I was very anxious to say the least."

"I pulled up outside Old Trafford and Paparazzi were everywhere, I did my best to hide from them and went in the backdoor, I went straight to Ed Woodwards office and heard voices"

Ed Woodward :
"Hello Ryan, take a seat"

Ryan Giggs :
"Thanks, good morning Ed and good morning Sir Alex Ferguson" (Sir Alex Ferguson was here which I found rather peculiar)

Sir Alex Ferguson :
"Good morning Ryan"

Ed Woodward :
"Ryan, how are you this morning? How was your drive in?"

Ryan Giggs :
"I am fine thanks, feeling good and my drive was ok apart from being anxious in regards to this meeting"

Ed Woodward :
"Well Ryan, let me shed some light on this for you, Louis van Gaal has decided he would like to retire from Football after his World Cup with Netherlands and I am in search for a new Manager"

Ryan Giggs :
(I gulped and felt even more anxious, was Sir Alex Ferguson going to be named Manager?) "Ok, that is a shame, I was looking forward to working alongside him as Assistant Manager"

Ed Woodward :
"Yes, that is why we called you here today, to discuss personal terms over a new contract, how does that sound?"

Ryan Giggs :
"That sounds great and I would love to discuss what proposals you have for me"

Ed Woodward :
"Well, I would like to offer you the chance to become the Manager of Manchester United on a full-time basis with Sir Alex Ferguson as the Director of Football who would be there to help you if need be, how does that sound Ryan?"

Ryan Giggs :
"Sounds ideal and I would love to accept that offer, give me a pen"

I signed my contract which is a 1 year Contract until the end of the 2014/15 Season and Sir Alex Ferguson did the same thing.

The Squad

View attachment 362952

I arrived at the Training ground, with a funny feeling in my stomach. I parked in the Managers spot and headed into the Office where I noticed the Team Report was waiting for me on my Desk.

Looking at my Team Report, I noticed my star players would be Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie in the coming season.

View attachment 362950
Juan Mata proved to be a massive figure last season with David Moyes in charge and was named the Supporters choice for Player of the Season.

View attachment 362949
Wayne Rooney as ever influential playing alongside Robin van Persie and will prove ever more instrumental in my line-up in 2014/15.

View attachment 362948
Robin van Persie will be the key figure up front feeding off Wayne Rooney and looking to break away and score those all important goals.

The Transfers

View attachment 362940
Signings coming in are thin on the ground as I am eager to see what players we have at the helm rather than spending a fortune on players coming in, so Luke Shaw coming in is the only biggy so far.

View attachment 362939
Transfers out on the other hand have been a slightly different ball game, with a 60 million pound profit coming into the club. Shinji Kagawa was an outcast in my overall view of the team with Wilfried Zaha looking to make a name for himself in the starting line-up and Javier Hernandez and Jonny Evans were outsiders also.

I signed Luke Shaw from Southampton as I thought the Left-back position was weak with Patrice Evra getting on and not really having any cover in that department, Luke Shaw has already expressed his desire to win things here at Old Trafford and fans were also delighted with the signing.

Ones to Watch

What can I say about Adnan Januzaj apart from world class? He will definitely feature heavily in and around the first team squad for me and I am sure he will grow from strength to strength.

I believe Wilfried Zaha has potential to be an excellent winger for Manchester United and I am going to give him the opportunity to show his ability on the big stage.

Definitely one of the hottest prospects at Old Trafford is James Wilson, with excellent pace in and around the box he will have an opportunity to show his talent in the coming season.

On my way to Training

View attachment 362824
The first day back at Training since the break and I was driving to the AON Training Complex with a lot on my mind, what training set up was I going to organise, who was going to help me organise it and what specific drills would I put in place for certain players and formations.

I arrived at the AON Training Complex and was greeted by the receptionist staff and colleagues when entering the building. I headed down to my office to gather the documents I needed to organise the training regime.

Amongst all these papers was the document I needed to progress with training, I called up Paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Nicky **** to start preparation for training and organise training formations for the squads.

The formation was decided, 4-2-3-1. We would build 3 solid game-plans to follow, Control, Attack and Overload(just in case).

I am very pleased with the training program that I am running with my Coaching Staff here at Old Trafford, no one is unhappy and everyone is training thoroughly. We should have an excellent Pre-Season which could kick-start our season.
