so maybe it's just me, but after months of intensive playing I feel I'm always scoring or conceding goals in the same dull ways. More precisely:
- corner kicks: even without the near post "cheat" I score (and concede) LOTS of goals from corners. Far post, near post, mixed it doesn't really matter: the ball just ends in (both) goals far too often, almost every match.
- indirect free kicks: even more clinical than corners. When I see a direct free kick from just outside the box I know not much is going to happen. But a FK from the wing? Almost like a penalty.
- opponents goal kick: the GK goes with the long kick, my midfielder or defender heads it forward and my fast striker outpaces the CB to go 1 on 1 with the keeper. I have lots of chances like this every game, and even if the striker blows most of them he still gets a ridiculous number of goals this way.
- offensive throw in: defenders apparently like to leave one man completely free to receive the ball, which often leads to a dangerous cross (typically to the far post) and a scoring chance.
What bothers me the most is all these are situations that I can't really control in any way, and I often feel my tactical choices ands strategies are not really that important for the success or failure of my team. Any average tactic can do before the same old goals happen.
To be clear, in FM11 I've won many different leagues in many different countries from Spain to Italy or USA and even Australia so I'm not speaking out of frustration or bad results. I have actually enjoyed playing FM11 these months. I just feel the ME can be quite lame esp when it comes to score and concede a goal, and hope to see some improvement in FM12.
