Hey guys, I've been looking forward to writing this story for some time now but I was waiting for the new patch to arrive. And before any of you ask, yes I am still going to carry on my AFC Wimbledon thread although it will have to take a backseat because this is my number one priority.

I'm not very good at multitasking so I decided against managing the club and national side of San Marino and I'll just stick to club management for now. San Marino are the only professional football club from the republic, and coming from the smallest nation in any UEFA Providence could be seen as a stumbling block for most. Sitting in the forth tier of Italian football, San Marino's only success was in 2000 when they were crowned champions of Serie D's group F.

One man has been given the chance to change this clubs fate, this man is Alberto Rossi, born in San Marino he knows everything there is to know about the club, at 33 years old he has already been managing amateur sammarinese football clubs for 10 years and has finally been given the chance to step up to the professional plate. Handed a two-year deal worth a stunning €1,500 a week this is clearly a club looking to move forward. First update coming soon..

good luck, would be a great challenge, like to see also that you would keep your squad as San Marinese (sp?) as possible :)

actually, these minor nations/clubs are actually good. I was Santa Coloma of Andorra and we beat WIT Georgia 5-0 at home

anyway good luck

It's Sammarinese, and unfortunately that would be impossible.. Considering 90% of San Marino footballers are amateur, I tried bringing in San Marino legend Andy Selva but he rejected me :(

I remember reading a San Marino story not so long ago and I was blown away; excitement, tension, and of course disappointment.

Hope this is the same, I shall be following, and good luck.

Good luck, I hope this is as good as your other ones mate.

Yeah I manager the San Marino national side once. Andy Selva was quality compared to everyone else. Ill be following this I remember seeing another San Marino story once and it was great.

It was Ubernisation and it was on FM2009, he got to 2014/15 and it's the only other San Marino story I think.

Upon arriving at San Marino I had a quick look at the squad, it was not much of a shock, a very average to poor squad with aging players and very little youth talent. There was one player who stood out, Alessandro Cazzamalli, a 30 year old Italian Midfielder who last year was playing Serie C1/A football, definitely the most talented player in the squad if not the only. The team needed drastic changes in the defence, lucky the board gave me £140k to spend, which should be more than enough to replace the majority of the guys here.

I feel promotion is a certainty, you never want to be too confident in these situations but San Marino is a big club and could easily claw it's way into Serie 1 come the end of the season. And as it was the 50 year anniversary of San Marino Calcio I felt it was my job to bring some success to this relatively trophy free side.

I will probably take a route into the free transfer market rather than spending money that the club don't really have on players who will more than likely be surplus next year. Although loans were another way to go, not many foreign players would want to join and I'm not allowed to sign anybody from outside the EU but the Italian top leagues have a lot of good youngsters and with no loan restrictions it seems silly to waste the opportunity. Here are the budgets for the season.

The staff side of the club wasn't too much better, they all had to go, but not before my assistant helped me filter out possible replacements, what a nice chap.

The club finances were in good shape, no debts or loans outstanding, a nice healthy £250k in the black and £140k sponsorship deal so I wasn't too worried about administration if the promotion attempts were unsuccessful this year.

Transfers & Tactics to come soon.. Comments welcome !!
