Sandy Mcwilliams was born on 29th July 1976 after a long labour lasting 16 hours he weighed 7lb 8oz at Scunthorpe General Hospital to Sarah a Teacher and Clive an MP, both who were originally from Dundee.

Sandy started his career at his local Scunthorpe United under 11's team where he played central midfield. When he was 17 he was released by Scunthorpe and after a successful trial he was picked up by Bristol Rovers where he went on to play 184 times and scored 50 goals.

1998 four years after Sandy joined Bristol, he was sold to Sheffield Utd for £500,000 he spent two seasons making 80 appearances scoring 30 goals and gaining championship experience.

In 2000 he was given a free transfer to Aberdeen, as he wasn't in the plans of the manager Neil Warnock he spent the next five years playing 338 times scoring 72 goals helping them to qualify for uefa cup twice (now europa league)

Sandy went on loan in 2005 to his boyhood heroes Scunthorpe Utd, where he helped the team to win the league and got the fans player of the year award. In 2008 during a league game Sandy had a critical collision with a Cardiff City defender resulting in a double fracture of the knee and torn ligaments, so Sandy decided to retire but his love of football made him want to continue if not as a player then as a manager,

After gaining his coaching badges Sandy took the role of Scunthorpe Utd U18's manager where he helped them win 5 league titles and 2 cup titles.

Before the 2015/2016 season started he was offered the role of Rochdale manager, we now join him with 4 season pre-season friendly matches before the season begins.
