Scouting in other areas?

Complete newbie to the game here.

Have just started out with a BSS side and trying to figure my way around scouting - I only seem to be able to search around teams in my region (both geographically, league).

It'd be nice even to hop to the lower European leagues for a look, but scouting assignments don't give this option, plus my 'player search' option doesn't bring anything up like this?

Am I doing anything wrong?

Go to your BOARDROOM screen ( MANAGER -> CLUB -> BOARDROOM ) near the top in the second group, it will say SCOUTING, under here it will say something like, 'The board will only allow/pay for scouting trips/assignments within this region/country/continent. This should explain why if it says region or nation. Hope this helps mate!

christophermcl - thanks for the tip! OK, might have drawn a blank on the scouting, but am struggling to search for players beyond my own league when it comes to using the player search

Yes, but am now looking for loanees, so it has opened things up a tad now.
