At the time of writing it looks like Southampton are selling everything that isn't tied with Shaw, Lallana, Lambert, Lovren and Chambers all sold and Rodriguez and Schneirderlin seemingly on their way too, with the club set to bring in well over £100m.
This got me thinking: How would this work on FM? Can it work? And how rich can the club become if it does work?

So I'm starting a career with Southampton with some unique rules..
Selling Players:
1) All good bids for my players will never be rejected, ideally this will be double their market value or close to it.
2) All new players will be sold before their 25th birthday
3) Top two players from the previous season (average rating) will be sold
4) Or, any player averaging over (example) 7.5 rating for the season will be sold
Buying Players:
Sold players to be replaced with
1) youth team players
2) Under 21 English players
3) Under 21 British/Irish players
4) Under 21 Foreign prospects
(in that order if no suitable players can be found at the club)
Goals
1) Not get relegated!
2) Qualify for the Champions League
3) Win the Premier League
4) Win the Champions League
5) Win the domestic Cups
6) Have a team full of home grown players
7) Have one billion pounds in the bank
