Sell On Clause Question

I'm Leicester and Im still in my first season and I was going threw the clauses and I saw that a player I have been monitoring has a clause.Joe Mattock.I would like to bring him back to the club at some stage(and with West Brom in a relegation battle I might even pick him up at the end of the season)His clause is that I get 25% of his next transfer fee.So does that mean if I spend £1m on him do I get to keep £250k or will that only be for other clubs that buy him.As in if they buy him for a mil do I then get the £250k or do I get it even if Im buying him.

I would assume that it would only be for other clubs! I have thought about this before, but I am 98% certain you will pay the full amount...

I guessed as much.I know ill have to pay £1m was just wondering would I get the extra £250k back.

I too am unsure, but I'm on the opposite end. I think you do get the 25% back, a contract is a contract. Let us know at the end of the season though.

You give West Brom £1,000,000
West Brom owes the previous team (you) 25%
West Brom gives you £250,000

That's the way I see it.
