Serious Error Encountered

I would imagine a similar error has been encountered by others, but here's the situation anyway:

I am playing a network game with my friend. We are in our first season and it's been going swimmingly so far. However, whenever I load the game (I am the host), and he joins the game, 'a serious error has been encountered' pops up on his screen and FM12 closes. The game remains open on my game, but his closes, and if he tries to rejoin, it closes again with the same error.

I have looked up this error, and what I have found is that the solution is to 'verify game cache'. However, both me and my friend have tried this and the problem persists.

Is there any solution? Thankyou for your time

Are you both running same patch/ database edits etc? In other words is everything exactly the same

Are you still playing the same game version?
One of your games may have been updated more than the other.

Thanks for the advice, I will check it now. We both have steam so it updates automatically, but maybe there was an error or something.

Unfortunately, we are both playing version 12.1.1, and so thats not an issue. Any other ideas?

Send him the save game and see if he can host and you can join.
