Im seeing all these threads about "editing", and that leads me to ask... editing what? Will I be able to have players moved to different teams? And where is the option to edit?

Yep, you can more or less change anything within the game with the Data Editor.

jback2, did you install Football Manager via Steam?

sorry, i restarted and its workign fine now. only problem is, after I saved my edits, I start a new game but only see the 10.2.0 update and the "default update" but not my own.

On the bottom right hand corner of that box that appears, there's a tickbox called Change. Tick it and click OK, and on the next screen choose your edited database.
