Today Newcastle have revealed that there Former Legend Alan Shearer has become the Manager of the club.

Alan Shearer had an unsuccessful spell at the club in the year 2008/9 Season which resulted in relegation, but he has been linked with the job ever since Chris Hughton resigned. The fan favorite scored 148 goals in 303 appearences which resulted in him being called up to the England squad playing 60 games and scoring 30 goals.

The Newcastle legend will have to live up to big expectations due to Chris Hughton's success as Manager helping the club back to the Prem in his first season at the club and as Manager. Alan Shearer will have a massive job on his hands to keep the club from relegation and maybe pushing for a UEFA Cup position.

Do you think you will be making any changes to the staff?
Everyone will have a chance to prove there worth, and if I feel there is any dead wood that I will look for changes, and the same will be with the players.

According to the papers you are interested in bring Jermaine Jenas back to the club, is this true?
It's not definant but will probably look to securing him on loan.

What do you think your chances are of pushing for the UEFA Cup?
I think we have a good chance of reaching the UEFA if the players play as well as I know they can.

Shearer will probably look to bring in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Assistant Manager but rumours suggest that Peter Beardsley could also be in the frame for the job

Shearer has been involved in the Transfer Window again, he has brought in Helder Postiga for 1.8 mil and Ruben De La Red for 3.8 mil. Both players once again have International experience so should really bulk up Shearers choices. Ruben De La Red has signed from Real Madrid and plays in Midfield, he has in total played 12 games for his country and has played 17 times for the Real Madrid First Team and has played 95 times for B team. Helder Postiga holds a bit more experience for his country gaining 35 caps for his country scoring 12 goals in that time. He has played for the 2 biggest teams in Portugal, Porto and Sporting Lisbon so should really bulk up Shearers Strike Force.

Shearer Seals Last Signing

Exciting Brazilian Jo has signed for Newcastle on a loan deal till the end of the season. Shearer has called this his final signing of the summer unless its urgent that we need a player he says. Most people are probably oblivious to his talents due to a poor start to his premiership career so he is hoping he can bounce back by becoming a big hit at St James's Park.

Pre - Season

AS Beauvais Oise 0-2 Newcastle United
Andy Carroll (39)
Poris Ponge O.G (47)

Game Summary
Good performance by the team, but that isn't reflected in the result, we could of won by much more so I am a bit disappointed about that but I am sure we will play better in the next game in which the assistant Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be taking over.

Clerment Foot 63 4 - 3 Newcastle United
Andy Carrol (1)
Cheik Tiote (13)
Carlo Vechionne (25)
Andy Carrol (42)
Romaine Armond (50, 78, 88 pen)

Game Summary
Looking at Highlights we played very well but could not defend, so we need to sort out that for next game.

Cheletnham 0 - 3 Newcastle
Postiga (14)
Jose Enrique (33)
Jo (60)

Game Summary
We end Pre-season with a comfortable win so I am happy and it is good to see new singings off the mark with a goal, bring on the prem!
