Shooting for Dummies

Hi,

I've set all my players specific intsructions to take long shot rarely. However, they still shoot from distance every now and then, but sometimes they shoot from outside the box when there is no one around them. Other times, they don't shoot, or wait until their right up in the keepers face and blast the ball, which of course gets blocked. I'm using Barca, so it's not like they cant get goals, they just chose to be stupid.

How do I make them shoot from to 10-15 yard distance? Other teams use the annoying fifa tactic of passing at the last second, so if I could teach my boys to do that, that'd be better.

While you have set their long shots to rarely, this does not mean they will take no long shots. A big factor in how closely a player will follow your instructions is their creative freedom setting. Depending on the position, you don't really want no creative freedom, because then your team will not have the ability to do the unexpected to breakdown a defence - but you don't want too much either, otherwise your players will just do what they want. Making a good tactic is about finding balance in all aspects.
