AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has confirmed the Rossoneri will be signing out-of-favour Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano.

The Italian prime minister wants to add the 28-year-old to the line-up, and has been quite pleased with how his side are currently playing.

"Yes. We will be signing Cassano," Berlusconi confirmed to Adnkronos. "I am also very happy with how the side are playing."

The patron, though, has expressed his disappointment at the recent performances of star Brazilian Ronaldinho.

"It is a shame for Ronaldinho," he said. "At the moment, he has not been playing well or training as well as he can."

Cassano could be forced to pay a buy-out clause to Real Madrid in order to leave Sampdoria.

Knew after I put about this in the transfer rumour thread that when I woke up Berlisconi would have said somthing!

Not sure how much we need him, although he is class. Would have prefered a RB, back up CB or a LB really, we got a really good attack already.....

it funny how berlusconi can critisce Ronaldinho when berlusconi has ****** up Italy

Cassano is too good for milan. He's a class of his own !

Milan made the wrong signing well in the wrong area. They blatantly need defenders especially with silva out injured. Not to mention their full backs and keeper issues...

Lol, Milan want to play the classic 2-3-5 formation

Robinho - Inzaghi -Ibrahimovic - Cassano - Pato

Blatantly not an Allegri signing, Mourinho always said that A.C bosses dont pick the team/sign players. Surely berluschoni knows they only have 2 recognised CB's and one of them is injured. Crazy logic must have taken ahold in milan, maybe benitez's lack of marbles is rubbing off in milan...

To be fair to Abbiati, hes probably been the best keeper in Serie A this season (believe it or not!)

But yeah, any decent player across the back. Nesta and Silva have been awesome together, just isn't the same with one of them out. And both LB and RB SERIOUSLY need replacing.

Cassano just seems a luxury buy, when we need to cover the basics in defence first

I totaly agree with you, abbiati is the best keeper in serie a ! xDD hahaha

The fashist is a very bad keeper, believe it or not. And Nesta could use a break, although he is the most beautiful player in serie a.

Criscito would me my choice if I was in charge, then maybe fanni at RB. ;) Saying that I love juve so I would rather they picked up criscito and sort their attack out. Pick it up Amauri!

Maybe I should re-phrase that then. Abbiati has been PLAYING the best so far. We also have the best defensive record so far in the league too, so he cant really be that bad, although this is also helped by the defence (which is generally thought of as Milans 'weak point')

Anthony Vanden Borre would do just great as a RB.

Well that sounds alot different. I'm preety much sure the milan fans respect Abbiati, but tbh, milan could buy alot better gk :)

The defence should be totaly reconstructed imo

I just hope milan dont move for marchetti, he is basically abbiatti/toldo version 2 (not great keepers)

Abbiati in the past has not been great, but his form this season is alot better, seems to have sorted out when he comes out to deal with crosses. He always used to balls that up! :P

The defence is doing well, but Nesta will be 35 in a few months and although hes great when fit, I'm just waiting for his back to give in again.... We need a decent younger back up, not buying more old players.

Silva is class and hes only about 26. Keep hold of him and thats our future CB for a good while.

Italian football = if you are a defender , you must play till u are 40yrs old :D

Nesta was a classy defender, but not anymore. He lost the race with his age..

Why not playing with Onyewu ? Silva , Onyewu.. but you still have 2 defenders missing and there is no class on the bench. I'm not saying that they are bad players but average, and we all know that average in todays football is not hard to beat.

Imo, milan should have never bought robinho and zlatan, they should build their play from the back.. The attack will eventually score, you don't have to think about that. The important thing in italian football is just to score a goal and defend.. sadly, but true :)

Been crocked for a few months, milan currently have 3 fit CB's I think: Nesta, Onyewu and Yepes

And Yepes is like 34 or 35! Not even sure if Onyewu has had a game yet, that I can think of right now anyway

To be fair Robinho and Ibra have been really good. (Mainly Ibra)

I cant see Nesta playing until hes 40, way to many back problams inturupting his season.

Milan should have bought Rafinha instead of Genoa. Theyre arn't even playing him in position :S
