Small but pleasantly fun dilemma

I am in my 4th season at Stade Rennais and have been offered a 27 year old Gregory Van Der Wiel for 2.3m.
Sounds good but my only cons to this are that I am trying to keep the team as french as possible and I have also been able to promote an 18 year old in place of my currently injured Romain Danze. My other right back is Mattieu Debuchy who is 30 and more than able at right back.
I don't necessarily want to buy this guy because my squad is comfortably rotatable but at the same time my club could benefit from reputation increments he could potentially bring...
Downside to getting him is that my club stature is small and the stadium is rented therefore I can't expand but I have managed to improve the team and recoup all of my money and I have 50 million sitting there to spend once I have built the reputation...

Views are welcome and also if there are any other simple tips available then I wouldn't mind seeing if I have missed anything.. My team is punching above their weight so my success is pretty good.. Been fortunate to pick up some gems for little fee (fierro, 1m.. Sanogo, free, kakuta, 2m.. Pogba, 3.3m and an 18 year old african I got for 55k and if now one of the best left backs in France.. Theyre all worth way more now too
