Is anyone out there found a good underdog tactic?

A combination of Roles, Duties, Instructions, Attributes that makes the team defend correctly, sitting in deep areas?

The tendency with an outclassed team is to be quite defensive and rely on scraping enough narrow wins and draws to pick up points and stay up.

I've realized that is not the correct approach under 14.3 due to the inability of FB's and CB's to mark properly and intelligently pick up runners Even if you pack the penalty area they all go enmass to close down 1 player leaving massive holes for the rest of the attackers to run into.

Those are words of a very good tactician out there.

Is this true? Did SI failed so much?

Not true is the short answer.

In the current tactic I'm playing with 4 at the back. 2 FBs and 2 CBs. One CB is set to stopper and the other one cover. Then, if the opposition is playing 1 striker, I get the stopper defender to mark him. Has worked well so far. In 5th place with Villa in the first season restock my tactic

Nice. I like to prepare things from the start of the season so maybe in my set of three tactics i should have three diffeent back four.

1. Vs 1 striker : FB C X (man2man) FB
2. vs 2 strikers : FB C X (or D D?) FB
3. vs 2 strikers underdog : FB X (man) C X (man) FB

how about tight marking, pressing and tackling ? And what about the complete tactic that helps team defend as a unit but not being too toothless upfront?

What i have in mind as ideal is a deep 4231 with DWs that all players contribute in defence and when in possesion either quickly counter with four front players or keep possesion and try make good orginized attacks.

My best ever ractic doing this was Mr L Underdog beast (google it). Unfortnatelly doesnt work in this version. My defenders keep loosing theis opponents (either they are good or **** players)

My current underdog tactics that work very well (depending on the type of squad/players) are 2-1-4-3 (DLP on defense, basically classic Danubian), 1-4-3-2 (Libero, counterattack), and 4-6-0 (think MU in '08) I consistently beat 4-5 star player teams in high leagues with a lower league of 2-3 star players.

Also sweeper keeper AI seems better than normal GK AI (at least from what I've seen, especially in lower leagues), so opt to use sweeper keeper

Misterburkes when using your 1-4-3-2 is that with a sweeper?
And what do you set ur DC to stoppers? I wanna make a tactic like this as I like the idea of a sweeper :) and would u play narrow with overlap?
