With these transfers in place friendlies were tackled and results were hard come by with only 2 victories out of 6, this proved to Campbell that the road ahead would be tough. Gabby Agbonlahor bagged the winning goals in both victories with both goals being on the 72nd minute.

Results leading into October have been tough on the team. After the friendlies the season kicked off at Villa Park against Leicester City who fought hard to a 2-1 victory over my team which proved to start with we have a long hard battle on our hands. We then traveled on the road to Carrow Road where we were fortunate for a 1-1 draw this time against Norwich City.

After that we went back home to Villa Park where stepping up in front of us was Premier League giants, Manchester United however we didn't back down and got ourselves a 1-0 victory against them and then came the challenge of Milwall at Villa Park which was a hard fought 2-1 victory in the Capital One Cup 2nd Rd.

However our luck came to an end after that with 5 consecutive losses at home and on the road starting off with a 1-0 loss against Everton, then 2-0 at home to Arsenal, 3-0 down to Chelsea at Villa Park also before we exited the Capital One Cup against Man Utd in a 4-2 loss at Old Trafford. We then rounded up the month with a 3-1 loss to Newcastle United at St. James Park.

A 1-0 win against Southampton re-kickstarted the season at Villa Park, however the team were soon put back in place with a loss at Vicarage Road against Watford. Villa then fought back to a 4-2 win at home against Crystal Palace before finally drawing at the Liberty Stadium against Swansea City.

The two wins and the draw this month pushed Aston Villa out of the relegation zone but they are still in the dogfight. However the team are only 5 points away from being in 10th position giving hope for the season ahead.View attachment 216697
