Some advice needed

Ok not played FM2011 since release as i kind of lost interest but yesterday decided to start a new game with blackburn and base my game on building a young squad and see how far i can take them and watch them develop.

So this is a list of my signings so far:

Juan Manuel Iturbe
Baston Borja
Erick Torres
Atila Turan
Simone Verdi (season loan)
Wendel
Mirko Barocelli
Serge Aurier
Martin Zeman
Fabinho

And my current lineup:

GK: Robinson
LB: Olsson
CB: Givet
CB: Samba
RB: Aurier
AML: Zeman
MC: Pederson
MC: Verdi
AMR: Barocelli
ST: Torres
ST: Wendel

Now 1st season i mainly used a 4-2-4 formation which brought me moderate success and Zeman ended the season with 15 assists. Im a few games into season 2 and im starting to get my *** kicked a little. Maybe im in need of a new formation. Any advice on a decent tactic, player instructions that will benefit some players or the team as a whole? I seem to always leak early goals (within 1st 10 mins) and most of the time only start playing really well in the 2nd half if im losing and go overload and press more.

I just want to get the best out of my pretty young squad.
 
not my preference but maybe use a defensive midfielder to provide more of a barrier between midfield and defence, MAY cut down the amount of early goals you concede. set the wingers to inside forwards(support) and this will compensate for the removal of a striker as they will weigh in with a fair few goals

Yeah i was thinking of bringing in a DM as im getting overrun in that area. Any recommendations for one? Only got about 3 mil to spend. Thanks for the rest of the tips. Will do some tweaking tonight and see what happens.
 
cant think of any off the top of my head.. depending on what city have done in the transfer market de jong may be transfer listed.. usually is in the second season. wages may be a push though.. just look through the transfer list and you may find one that can do a job. after a few seasons there will be a plethora of DM regens to choose from so be patient
 
Yeah i will have a scout tonight and see what i can find. I will have to patient with my squad anyway as its a very young first team bar a few players so i know its going to take a few seasons before they start to shine more. Just want to make sure i keep them in the prem and just try and improve each season. I finished 11th in my first season with 52pts (i think) so my target initially is to try and beat that whilst obviously trying to keep some of my young starlets. I have several clubs sniffing round a few already!
 
fair enough, just thought you could retrain phil jones to play in the hole between defence and midfield.. unless you sold him that is
 
Ive put a data update on mine so no longer have phil jones
 
Nampalys Mendy - DM - 18 - Normally around 2mil and around 170Pot.
Fernando - DM - 22 - Plays for porto (maybe wont join blackburn) but if can sure on update can get him for like 1.5 to 3mil depending on game. Once again around 170pot maybe a tad lower.

2 possibles for ya. (H)
