Hey everyone, so the amount of goals you concede on FM14 is getting a bit silly now. And atm, it seems as though i concede the same goals over and over and over again. It's either by a opposition player dribbling down the wing, puts a cross in and someone meets it at the back post, or taps it in at the front post OR it's from a set piece (especially corners). Now i have tried everything, every formation, more defensive, tighter marking, but nothing seems to work.

Here i have posted a few screenshots just to show you how much i dominate games however i cannot score and they always score every chance they get. Someone please help me!

Funnily enough I have EXACTLY the same issue with my Hull side! Conceded 22 goals in 7 games!!

EDIT: AND LOST EVERY SINGLE ONE

It's very difficult, mate! I mean, i understand that taking control of a newly promoted side in the Prem was never going to be easy buy when you dominate teams and they score the same old goals past you when you've tried everything in your power to prevent them, what can you do? I might just wait until FM14 bring out a patch hopefully to sort out all the silly goals you concede.

I would try setting the BBM to a normal cm, as although the BBM's job is to attack and defend, going up to attack can cause holes in midfield. Also, having the AP in midfield also leaves holes in midfield, as they normally push forward. You also use a high tempo, and so, especially with a team like hull, most likely see less of the ball which of course allows the other team more time on the ball and normally create more chances. Finally, you have 'Look for overlap' which pushes the fullbacks forward which leaves your team open to a counter attack. Honestly, I know little about FM tactics but hopefully that helps a bit!

You've got to remember you are hull, and so conceding quite a few goals is inevitable. Your centerbacks don't have very good ratings which may have something to do with it.

I haven taken leeds and made them a top table premier league side, ive got good players in all positions and score plenty of goals, but i my goal difference is never above +10. You are doomed to concede lots of goals in this, and i have no idea why.

Dribling in through the side, crosses, players colliding or tackling the ball straight to an open striker seems to happen allot.
Not to mention if you go 2-0 up, its seems like the opposition can just walk from their own half through all of your players and score.
This season i really bolstered my defence, so hopefully it will get better, but I have a feeling that this is a bug with the ME, and not the players.

Thanks man, i will try and change a few things. I mean higher tempo hasnt really resulted in me seeing less of the ball because i always dominate in possession but i understand where you're coming from. And yeah i am going to change it to a CM and get a strong tackler in the centre who can also spring a few passes together. And the look for overlap is one i always like to put on but yeah it does leave you're wide areas pretty empty, i will change that also.

I'm the opposite. Always concede the league's fewest, but whilst my team score a decent number...my strikers get hardly any of them.

Mate!! Tackling the ball to an open striker of theirs happens to me probably every single game! Im glad im not the only one having this problem. Yeah i think there are a few bugs in the ME as well.

Exactly the same here mate, with plenty of 1-0 wins and many clean sheets on the spin. However, I manage to score and lose 5-4 against Man United? Makes no sense how things change like that.

Find it quite difficult myself, I have a very similar tactic to yours but have its possession, it works for a while but then I have to change it since it just starts to get losses. I have to rotate between my 3 tatics of 4-2-3-1 -4-1-2-2-1 and 4-0-3-2-1.

There is a very fine line when it comes to scoring goals and then keeping a good defensive line since you have to sacrifice creativity which is annoying -.- Chose towin 5-3 than only 1

What tactics are you managing to concede so few with? Maybe the people having such success going forward and those few that manage hardly to concede could put their ideas together and see what can be done? I myself... Score about 1 or 2 a game but usually concede 2.

If you are conceding similar types of goals, maybe it's time to edit your tactics to prevents this? Watch carefully the next time you concede a goal like this, and see where all your players are positioned on the pitch, and how the opponents are positioned. Decide what you would want your team to do in that situation, and then see what they are actually doing. Then edit your tactics depending on what you find.

Just won another 2 games on the spin since posting this both to the scoreline of 1 to nil with my Stoke City side, these results were against Manchester City and Cardiff respectively. It seems essential to have a good CB duo and a good goalkeeper. If you have a striker that can finish of his chances too then you're on the money. I will post my tactics in a min mate, made them myself anyway, differential from Home to Away.

EDIT: This is with my full backs getting very solid ratings game after game too. I mean, I even played James Husband against City due to an injury to Danny Rose, and he got a match rating of 9 which was unbelievable. Could be down to the pre match instructions that you use, that's what I'd imagine anyway. Also, when I rotate my RB's around who are Uchida and Jenkinson, they both perform equally as well.
