Southampton In Turmoil!
Southampton FC have been rocked by the departure of manager Mauricio Pochettino, after alleged differences between him and the board, said to be centred around the board's insistence he signed high-profile, overly expensive players (Dani Osvaldo, anybody?)
Fans are said to be happy at the rumours of club stalwart Matthew Greene being appointed...

Who IS Matthew Greene?
But who exactly IS Matthew Greene? Well. As a youngster, he was picked up by the youth system at Southampton's local rivals Portsmouth, although he was released after failing to make the grade. At the tender age of 18, he moved north, playing in the reserves for seaside team Blackpool, although injury cut his career short before he could break into the first team.
Determined not to let his injury ruin a future in football, Greene moved into Coaching, nurturing talent at Southampton, coaching teams in the Academy, and then coaching the Reserve side last season.

What are the board expecting of him?
The board have voiced an opinion that they expect the side to put up a fight in the Premiership this season, and finish in a mid-table position; an ask which shouldn't be too much of an issue, given the talent at Greene's disposal. In terms of cup competitions, the board expect 5th round of the FA Cup, and the Fourth round of the Capital One Cup.
And what of philosophies? That controversial subject which was the downfall of Pochettino?
The board are looking for: Possesion Football, Attacking football, High profile signings, First team young players to be bought, and also giving the youth from the academy a chance.
