New start at St.Marys

Southampton have confirmed that Joseph Southern, a relatively unknown manager from Sheffield will take over the club as manager, The unknown manager has no past experience at managing a football club but used to play Sunday league football for Hillsborough Pumas as a striker.

*Note that is actually me, sorry for **** quality pic

This is what he had to say on his appointment,

' I am extremely proud to be here at this great club, it has a great squad and back room staff, to be honest i wasn't expecting to get the job but when the offer came through i jumped at the chance to join. I will do my all for this club who i supported as a child and try to get promotion into the Championship, we do have a disadvantage with the 10 point deduction but we can work around that, thank you'

Joseph Southern has also declared interest in signing Mark Beevers, Alan Quinn and Darius Vassell.

Could Vassell come back into football at Southampton?

Southern's first five competitive fixtures bill be ;

Plymouth - Away
Barnet - Away
Carlisle - Home
Dagenham and Redbridge - Away
Brighton - Home

So not an easy first few games for Southern in the league and domestic campaign but will his friendly's be any esier, lets have a look ;

Middlesbrough - Home
Bournmouth - Away
GH Academy - Home
Sailsbury - Away
Grimsby - Away
Cheltenham - Home

Not a very hard pre season on paper but we will have to see how his team goes on in my next update ;)
