Conference North, non movers

Stalybridge Celtic Football Club is an English football club based in Stalybridge, Greater Manchester. The club participates in the Conference North, the sixth tier of English football. The team traditionally plays in a blue and white strip. The team plays its home matches at Bower Fold.
In 1921 Stalybridge Celtic became a founder member of the Football League's Third Division North. But after only two seasons in the new league, they became the first club to leave the new division.

My Goals / Ambition

Hmmm promotion initially and then head to the promised land of the premier league and champions league football

Board Goals for 2014/15 Season

Mid-Season Football (Same old Same old)

My Star Player

Scott Kerr, journeyman pro. Clubs include York, Lincoln and Grimsby & one of my few reasons to be cheerful, good passing and tackling will make him useful in my midfield and if I can get 2 decent seasons out of him I predict promotion.

Formation and Tactics

Right then how are we going to get out of this crazy lower league well it'll be attacking pressure and loads of goals I suspect I'll have quite a few scored against me but it will be entertaining football at least

What next is new recruits, a few more staff and a good run through the pre season for friendlies, my plan is to get the Assistant Manager to control the pre season games, I'll just pick the squad and system. My next update will be with the additional squad members IF i can secure any plus anyone I decide to get rid off before the real season starts

So here we are start of the season, must say I'm a little nervous, pre-season has seen me completely try and revamp the squad and staff read for the off, the friendlies saw me get a good couple of wins against lower teams but then lose a little ground again under 21 teams from Liverpool and Charlton.

Bookies make us rank outsiders so thats never a good thing who's ever seen an out of work bookie I better not place a big bet if any.

Squad wise I've added strength to the spine of the team bringing in a main Striker, Midfielder to play alongside Kerr and a good solid Irish defender to shore up that back line. However as I went through pre season I realised the formation I wanted 4-3-3 wasnt really fitting the players I had so we've had a last minute re-think between myself and Stuart (My Assistant) and re jigged the formation

So 20 teams all sat on Zero points lets see what the month ahead brings .......... I'm a little worried about our strength in depth and will be on the look out for a decent left or right sided winger over the next week or two, additional we've just begun a search for a senior affiliate so fingers are crossed we can bring in a couple of decent loaners
