Steam problem

I've downloaded FM11, all seems well. When I try to launch the game from Steam, it looks as though it wants to work, starts with an hourglass, etc. Then nothing. If I try to play the game, it says a game is running. If I open task manager, a game is indeed running. But how do I get that game? Is there a basic technical problem here?

What are your computers specs?

Did it run FM10 okay?

I've never had an FM game on this machine, I did on my previous laptop and recall no problems.

This is an Aspire netbook. Specs are:

Even tried Steam in offline, no difference, still "plays" in background.

Netbook, theres your problem.

Please see my netbook thread for last years game. There is no netbook skin for FM11 as far as I am aware yet, and I haven't got round to testing FM on my netbook and making the FM 11 netbook thread yet, but most of the tips in this thread should help.

Cheers! I did the first part, changing the properties of the shortcut. It will work but of course the screen's too small for many of the options (choosing leagues, etc).

My laptop that I assumed to be knackered is currently working so I'm using FM11 on there. Though how long that will work for is anyone's guess.

It's much more ideal to play it on the netbook, but hopefully there'll be future developments to make that more possible. In the meantime, at least I can play.

I have different Steam accounts on the two machines - that shouldn't be an issue, should it? I installed FM11 on the netbook via Steam, but without Steam on the laptop.

There should be a netbook skin released in the near future. As for your 2 installations,that will be fine.

Hi there I have a problem with my tactics screen i cant see the players shirts instead all i can see is their names and the thing saying if he is support, attack etc. Also i cant see the players faces or club badges, please help!
