Stop contract renewal

Hello.Is there anything I can do to stop a player from another team to renew his contract ? For example, I manage Manchester United and Neymar is in the last year of contract, so I want to get him on a free.
It is down to luck if a player renews his contract or not or I can do something to endorse the player ?
 
Are you by now the biggest club in the world ??? If yes than its very easy .
 
Put a transfer bid in for him and after they accept offer him a contract. After he accepts the contract delay the deal when it asks you to finalise it. Do this until they cancel the deal and keep doing it till his contact runs out.
 
You just have to put a bid in. You'll hardly get quality players on a free. That'd only come a couple of seasons down the line
