Stop shooting from long range!

I am with Nottingham forest and my players keep shooting from long range with mixed effect. I have all personal instructions on longshots on rarely, creative freedom disciplined and rigid... but still the shoot from 30 yards... Can someone help me fix this?

2 things may be happening:

your players have PPMs to long shouts - train them to not do that
your player keep passing the ball in front of the box and can't enter, so they try long shots

But beware. if you have a good long range shooting guy, use him, because long shots work in 13

Iam pretty sure this is one of the many bugs with the ME engine at the moment. You'll just have to wait for the patch I'm afraid.
