There's been a few attempts at this, but none have really worked successfully, and I think it would be good to see which stories are up there and appreciated most among the general public.

A few rules:

  • You cannot nominate, second or third a story that you have been a part of.
  • You may nominate two, second two and third two stories.
  • You get six "votes". A vote can be either a nomination, second or third.
That bits tricky to understand, so if anyone is confused, just ask.

The competition will run in league format, as one-on-one matches are just ridiculous. Once a story has been nominated, seconded and thirded, it is added to the official list of competitors.

The size of leagues wil be decided once I see how many stories have been entered, and I will also decide how many stories you can vote for, according to that.

Right, I'll start, and I get six nominations as there hasn't been any stories yet to second or third.

Stories Offically Entered into the Competition
It's Hammertime! Can't Touch This! (Dan)
The Story of my Masif Willie (King Eric)
Slaying the Dragons -- The English Youth Academy (Eds-99)
Emulating Sir Alex Ferguson: From East Stirlingshire to Old Trafford (KingEric)
Memoirs of a Slovak - Chapter 1 (Kris)
Cultural Leonesa (Jake)
Extracts From a Thought (Mike)
Sam's Stockport Story: From the heights of UT3 to the lows of the dugout (Samscfc)
Lifting the Fog on the Tyne (StuW)
Cockfosters to Premier League (Astonmatu)
Pompey_Dan's East European Adventure (Pompey_Dan)

Get voting! Make sure you do not vote for your own story in the poll, and only vote for four stories.

I think mine was amazing ;D

In all seriousness, I loved DMF's and Astonmatu's had to be up there.

Very surprised about ours being nominated. :$

AstonMatu's has to be there and Mike's blew me away.

Edds Dragon slaying the dragon was easily the best

I will nominate the following :
Slaying the Dragons (eds-99)
Glasgow Rangers Champions (RFS Andrew)

I will second :
Memories of a Slovak- Chapter 1
Being Bastian...A Bayern Munich story (Carine)

Nominated:
- 'The Life and career of a football manager' by scuk08. It's probably the best written story on the site.
- 'Pompey_Dan's East European Adventure' by Pompey_Dan

I can't be bothered seconding other stories...

Just wondering, why is 'Story of the Year' coming out now? Why not wait until either the new FM comes out, or until the end of 2010?

King Eric's Alex Ferguson one :) And Kris'.

Any one of Paul LUFC Custus'.

But seriously:

I'm seconding Dan's Hammertime story and KingEric's Sir Alex Ferguson emulation.

Guys, if you want to vote, do it in the format Clark_Messi has done.

EDIT: Or just tell me the name and user, and whether you're seconding, nominating or thirding the story like Mike has done.

I'd nominate KingEric's 'Masif Willie' and his Emulation of SAF, DMF's Wolfsburg.

And second iNickStuff's Stuttgart one.
