Strikers Pointless?

I know it's not just me that has noticed strikers are a LOT less important this FM. In before the "AF" comment because that doesn't really change things either, i've tried DLF, PF, AF, CF and none of them replicate what they have the past football manager games! It's literally taking a 4 1/2* + Striker to actually get a considerable amount of goals.

I'm managing Conwy Borough in the 2nd tier of Welsh football and safe to say that my strikers have been of massive importance for me in our route one 4-4-2 setup! Probably because I'm playing at such a ridiculously low level with a hoof the ball up to the front men mentality though?!
