How much of an effect does confidence have on strikers/goalkeepers? Like if a striker misses chances does it make him more likely to miss chances in the future? Same for goalkeepers? Making saves or giving up goals makes them more/less likely to save in the future?

Currently my goalkeeper can't make a save. Every goal of the month is scored against me. 35 yard shots from players scoring their first goal of the year.

My solo striker averaged a goal a game throughout the year, but managed to play 10 hours of football without scoring. That's how hot/cold he was.

Do other people experience this? How do I get it to stop being so extreme?

35 yards shots on target are generally really good ones and usually go in. I've seen Chamakh curl a shot like 30 degrees in from 25 yards out.

Some players are just really streaky, I just end up putting them on the bench for a while. That's why you have a squad of players. If your goalkeeper is awful, buy a new one...
