Sturggling with Tactics

Hi first post EVER so please help
really struggling with the tactics of the game FM11. Basicly ive done all the match prep and have sightly different tactics for harder or easier teams. it always goes wrong by DEC. same with Liverpool and now AS Roma. Has anyone got a secret to stop the rot of this as its now getting stupid. Am i missing something to do with tactics as ive created my own and used others.

What happens when you lose?

You may be changing the tactic to often so the players can never adapt to it. I find the simple tactics are the best, usually stick to 4-4-2 Control/Fluid. It sounds like you may overcomplicating your tactics.
 
Yeah basicly 4-2-3-1 and kept that, then played fluid on all with defensive, balanced and attacking depend on team.
what about other settings as ive tried changeing, more roaming, shorter passing etc. it all just seems to go wrong really.
I always have loads of long shots and dont score in one game and the next play very well. really play bad against better teams no matter how i set up.
dont know if its all the other settings im struggling with!
 
I agree with Jack Fulham, many people do to many things and details on their formations or tactics, i keep it simple also. Currently managing Everton and i use 4-4-2, 4-4-1-1 or 4-5-1. ( Against big teams away ). I have recently seen my friend also always making his own tactics and they look really complicated. So i think you should keep it simpel but also have your own playing style.
 
Do most of the ways you play stay the same just slightly diff formation and starting phillosphy?
