Looking at the stats surrounding Van Gaal and Moyes and seeing how they aren't overly different but because of how other teams were or are doing Man United look better this year than last year. I thought I would look at my first four seasons in charge as I have finished fifth in consecutive seasons now and still have a job!
so these are Wenger's last four years in charge:
10/11 4th place 68pts GF 72 GA 43
11/12 3rd place 70pts GF 74 GA 49
12/13 4th place 73pts GF 72 GA 37
13/14 4th place 79pts GF 68 GA 41
So despite growing animosity towards Mr Wenger he has actually improved his points tally year on year for the past four seasons, which is all you can really ask from a team, it all depends on the consistency of others as much as own form.
My my first four seasons have looked like this:
14/15 3rd place 69pts GF 73 GA 45 - a place higher despite ten points fewer than Wenger's last season.
15/16 3rd place 76pts GF 98 GA 59 - still higher than 4th with a lower points total than Wenger's last season.
16/17 5th place 74pts GF 83 GA 43 - finished fifth despite arsenal finishing higher with fewer points in 4 of the previous 6 seasons. Only lost 6 in the league the lowest amount for arsenal since 08/09.
17/18 5th place 73pts GF 82 GA 46 - again well outside the top 4.
Hoping this season will be an improvement, unfortunately need a monumental effort, 20 extra points needed by my estimation.
