Hey guys, just wondering if u will be able to help me out with my sunderland game, i never normally use guides or ask for help but im really struggling with sunderland atm. i want to break into europe and hopefully on my first season as if i dont finish high enough bigger clubs poach my players and they all request transfers.

i am starting the season again and looking to play a simple 4-4-2 formation with cattermole and cana as DM's and two flying wingers. i have bought otamendi and enyeama to boost up my defence but i still need two full backs, a cover for cattermole and cana because they rack up yellows so easily, two wingers and a target man to support Darren Bent up front. have around 18 million to spend.

If I were you, I'd keep jones for now, or use Fraizer Campbell instead. Also, you made a mistake buying a CB and a GK, cos you should have looked for fullbacks and wingers first. :S

Heskey for target man (A)

thanks, but in my previous games heskey never really gets on the top scorers list and isnt high on assists either, i need someone to bang in the goals as i cant rely on darren bent. are u sure he will work ?

i got them both for cheap costing 2 million for otamendi and 500k for enyeama, i bought the CB to allow da silva to go out on loan to reduce the wage bill

ive just bought di maria for 3 million, want to buy obasi but they ask for 9 million which is too much in my opinion, got any cheaper alternatives for a right winger

I managed Sunderland a while ago and here is a few tips:

1) Keep Cattermole, you can build your team around him
2) You can get £10m for Jones, either Birmingham or Chelsea will pay that and you can buy Obasi who is tons better
3) Sell the wage-sponges i.e Malbranque, Nosworthy, Andy Reid etc.

thanks, what patch are you using because i transfer listed jones and offered him to clubs, no one bid even at 4 million

Got some players you might want to consider

Full Back - Aleksander Lukovic - Price £1m -£2m (max)

Def Midfield - Anthony Annan - Price around £3m

Wingers - Simon Vukcevic - Price £4m. Lautaro Acosta - Price £4-5m

thanks al scout these players out, and get back to you with the results

Huddlestone for centre mid.

Keep Bent and Campbell goal machines

Gordon is amazing

Michel Chritein for right back

Angel di Maria and Alesio Cerci for your wingers decent enough IMO

In my 3rd season with Sunderland first season finished 7th won FA Cup, 2nd finished as Runners-up and won FA Cup. Bent has got 30+ plus goals in past two seasons he is amazing

Umm just the 9.3 patch.. Whatever you do keep Bent and Campbell, 50 goals per season between them easily.

I actually just started a season with them last night for the first time on fm10. I used them a few times back when Keano managed them :)

Well I started by saying top half finish so got 8.75 million transfer budget. Although on dec 18th the chairman gave me 22 million :):):) stating an increase in club finances caused it but there was nothing and my balance was the same at only 20 million.

All my purchases are always zero down then 48 monthly payments so for every 10 million i spend you only use 2.5 million of your budget. So a budget of 8.75 million gets you about 35 million in purchase doing them all that way. SO then I sold Jones to Birm for 10 mil and sold Reid to Arsenal for 7 mil (Why they bought him i dont know a year on and he still hasnt played a game) Oh and sold Ferdinand for 4 mill. So that give me a total transfer budget of 38 million but doing them all with the zero down 48 month payment that means i can Spend, waged budget permitting, 98 million
So I started by buying Gago 4.7 mill and Diarra 3.9 million
Then Bought Lacina Traore for 2.8 mill
I then bought Abou Diaby for 4.5 mill and also sent Steed Malbranque the other way (Another Arsenal buy that never played)
I Then Bought Milan's Boricello for 6 million
Then Zapata for 12.5 Million and Sarna for 14 mill 48.4
I Then Bought Annan (SP some Brazilian DM/MC) for 4.5 mill
I Then Signed Jadson on a free and Ander for 11.25 mill in January
Which takes my total spending to 64.15 Million all with zero now and over 48 months.
I lost my first 6 league games in a row scoring once until a run of 4 wins took me off the foot of the table and got me into 7th
Its nows 25 games into the season and my record is 13 3 9 For 44 AG 28 +16
Started rocking towards the end of the year and am sitting in 6th

My Lineup 4132
Gordon
RWB Srna
LWB Richardson
CB Zapata
CB Cana
DM Gago
CM Cattermole
CM Jadson
CM Diaby
FC Boricello
ST Bent
Bench
Fulop
Turner
Diarra
Hutton
Campbell
Annan
Mccartney

I guess thats about it. I always set the rest of my transfer budget into wage budget as having a big gap in wage budget keeps the board happy and having no transfer budget doesnt seem to bother them so if i ever have any left after buying i pop it onto the wages.

I tried to get Lukaku but he wouldnt come unless i made him a key player and i just couldnt do it.
:-/

I think you must have a different patch because i am on the default one, havent updated and i get 14 million to spend, and cant sell kenwyne jones to save my life,

You can get Solomon Kalou on loan from Chelsea. Worked a charm for me when i was Sunderland. Also Harry Kewell isn't a bad buy.

I have 10.3 and read what i said to do the buying technique works in all versions i only started with 8.75

you can get fabio coentrao on loan.. & at the end of the season there normally selling for about 2m and hes worth it if you play him sunderland become one oof his favoured clubs and you become a favoured personal.

and for left back lee wallace is pretty goood..
