Sunderland are closing in on Birmingham midfielder Craig Gardner for a fee thought to be about £6m.

Saw this earlier on. Didn't want to make a thread because I knew that the Bot would make a duplicate thread and mods would have to close one.

He's a pretty good player, a league above Gibson, which isn't saying much to be honest. What does this mean for the Gibson deal, if anything?
