to reduce the inflexibility of a tactic for when you have to play as an underdog and as a favorite, I've done a lot of trials and errors to finally come up with a combo tactic that you can alter around for all purposes.

the main tactic is a 2-3-2-3 with 2 CD 2 WB 1 halfback 2 CM 2 wingers 1 striker. do not move the WB to FB even if your fullbacks are much better at FB than WB. they need to play as WB to add depth to the midfield and control the possessio. this is the most reliable tactic, will satisfy your board's possession philosophy with 60% possession

the B plan tactic is the same, but you move the half back into AMC-advanced playmaker. it's great if you have in your squad 2 box to box midfielders, 1 DM and 1 AM. but if you only have 3 quality options, then rotate the primary halfback player to the CML slot which is more defensive, then move the originally CML to the CMR slot which will join the attack more, and move the CMR guy which should be the best offensive CM in your squad to AMC. also the 2 wingers can also play as inside forwards or 1 winger 1 inside forward combo

but that's not all! just having 2 versions don't really qualify as an all purpose swiss knife tactic right? but I've got that covered. the main tactic download will use a control mentality with lower tempo, but when you play against teams that park the bus, or teams that don't have great counter attack (aka slow forward, no attacking midfielder/fast winger), you can change to overload mentality - higher tempo

with this, you have 4 possible tactics to use depending on the situation, home/away & underdog/favorite. i'm confident you can unlock any team with the right choice of knife. here's my 2 biggest wins, vs arsenal with overload and vs monaco with control.

also, your team will be one of the most fairplay team in the league

few things that differentiate this tactic from others are the opposition instructions and corner settings. i ask my players to press down the opponent defenders to force mistakes and break their build-up, and it doesn't matter if my attacking players get out of position while pressing, they're far away from the goal anyways. this is the key to high possession in this tactic. also i don't put any players back when i'm having a corner kick. i've never seen the computer get a goal after defending a corner anyways. risky in theory, but practical in reality

by the way, feel free to change the shoot more/less often option for your players. it's just my personal setting to suit the players i have

Sorry but this tactic did not do so well in my test league. 6-0, 7-0 and 8-1 losses to Arsenal and Man City. My post count is not high enough so I cannot post screenshots. However I would say the tactic has a good base and can be improved on, especially the defense which is very leaky.

that's hard to believe cuz this is one of if not the most defensively potent in all my tactics. usually end games as 2-0 3-0 3-1. won the BPL first season after promotion with leeds with new players as half of the team. what test database are you using? maybe i'll give it a try

I will test a full season and post results on my thread. Also my apologies I did not use the tactic with the OI's, I will test with the OI's you have instructed.

Will this tactic do well in the championship?
