I am currently managing Newcastle with an attacking 4-2-2-2 formation.

MC(1) MC(2)

AMR AML

ST(3) ST(4)

(1) Use a defensive-style CM here, in a held back role
(2) Use a Attacking)-style CM, more like a playmaker stlye
(3) Target Man, hold up ball
(4) Fast Striker

works well for me, especially in Championship, pace destroys most of the teams.
