Tactic help for boro. 2 up top

Looking for a tactic for boro in first season. 8 games in have 7 points but really struggling to win. Wide players are quite poor so tried a 5-3-2 with negredo and moussa konate up top. Not scoring enough. Want to be defensively solid but still create chances. Any suggestions?
