Hey. Im looking for a tactic to try.
High possession attacking football. Preferably one that doesnt exploit crosses to much.
I have been using the date 442 tactic. Although it is very good im fed up of seeing 60+ crosses per game and full backs with 20 or more assists a season.
Any recommendations would be great

What team are you using? Any system has to fit your personnel.

Why are you unhappy with your fullbacks making that many assists? Seems like you should be scoring plenty.

Why do you want to move away from crossing if it's working?

I have been using all different teams with the date 442 tactic. All saves have been successful.
Im scoring plenty of goals and winning most matches. Im just looking for a tactic that doesnt rely on crossing so much. Im getting bored of watching back post crosses leading to goals.
Last season (real football) in the premier league the highest average crosses per game came from man united with 27.
In real football i think the highest assisting player was ozil with 19. the highest assisting full back had around half that.
The assists and crosses per game some tactics give are just ridiculous.
If you went to a game and watched your team chuck in 60+ crosses a game it would drive you mad.

How did you have your tactics set up that your team were producing that many crosses in the first place?

ive been using the date 442 tactic. it can be found on this site.
im not knocking the tactic at all. it plays fantastic football. high pass accuracy and possesion. plenty of CCC. looks really cool on the match engine. the amount of crosses and assists from full backs bugs me a little.
the tactic has been made to exploit the OP crosses in this years match engine. thats why im trying to look for a tactic that doesnt do that so much

Well, I admire your integrity in not being willing to exploit something that (maybe correctly) seems OP to you. I don't feel the guilt about it, especially considering how often the computer pegs me right back with it! I think literally every goal I conceded in the preseason friendlies in my most recent save was from a cross (mind you I was using some makeshift back lines for fitness reasons and to get various players experience playing together, but still).

I guess you could try to design something that uses TIs like "exploit the center" and "work ball into box" and the like, since those will discourage crossing in general, plus use "cross less often" for your wide players...but I'm not necessarily sure you'd want to build a tactic around that, or I don't have a specific one to recommend, anyway.
