Hi..I made a new manager and i wanted a challenge so i went darlington...and a challenge it is ! I can't seem to win and i dont have the most gifted bunch of players as you can guess. I was just wondering what kind of tactics you guys think i should use, as im playing against teams with not very good players. im using the 4-4-2 and its just not working. also, what stats should i look for in an assistant manager? thanks for any suggestions :)

man management is one stat for an assistant manager right?

In this kind of position i have always said just think what you would want a team that is a little short of quality to do. Long balls, dont play fancy football it wont work. Deep defense, trying tocatch people offside with a high line is stupid. Get your players battering in with challenges. Agressive set up. Set your centre backs up to just hack the ball away. Defenders in lower leagues will tend to make mistakes if requested to play it out of defence etc.
hope it helps :)
