TACTICS CANCELLING ANOTHER TACTIC OUT!

As the title says....

are they any tactics that would cancel another tactic out ?

Not necessarily, but some have natural advantages over others. For example, a 3-4-1-2 type formation is usually going to have an advantage over a 4-1-2-1-2 because it can get more width through its more advanced wing-backs whilst matching the other formation in the middle.
