Tactics for beating the big teams

I require some help or some tips for beating big teams in fm13, especially away from home. When i play them at my ground its more even, well i dominate a bit more but even tho i have a very good team i struggle away from home. My players cant string two passes together yet at home the same formation works. I don't get it? Is home and away matches overpowered?

Pleases i need help because i want to go an entire season unbeaten in the league

I would say that due to the expectation of being at home they will look to play more for the win so it may not always be the fact that you dominate but you look to set your team up in the way they'll be defensively solid and can take their chances. i tend to sswitch to control or even counter agains the big teams especially when i am protecting a lead
