Hi Guys

I am a veteran of the old Championship Manager Pre 2000. I have not played football manager in a long time and it has changed significantly since I last played this wonderful game.
Can you suggest some good tactics for Sheffield Wednesday in D2?

ive found personally in this series tht a basic 4-4-2 using standard approach to start with then changing to control when going a goal up,ive tried tatics on here and not many have worked in fact only one was a 4-5-1,tudgay plays good as a target man attacking with morrison playing along side in advanced forward postion he was my top scorer by far and best playa when i used a standard 4-4-2 in my last save, ive tried a few saves to get the best tactic playing style and i came 2nd in the league woulda been 1st but had a lil bad run towards the end, main problem is keeping morrison happy,he doesent deal with media well like when an opp manager comments b4 a game tht morrison has to be stopped then his morale drops through the roof always so only way i found to deal with this is to private chat him and say im resting u for a game or even a month,he always comes bk saying thks think i need it. so a gd back up striker would be a good idea unfortuanately all i had was heffernan lol
keeping morale high is vital so when a playa plays well praise him in private chat saying you played well in last match keep it up,just be careful with morrison hes volatile.

get 4 decent loan playas from the premiership as well, patrick van da holt LB reserve at chelsea is a must was my best playa overall, also donal mcdermot man city reserves winger hes gr8 especially cutting in scored and made loads of assists, shane lowry CB aston villa reserves, ulises de la cruz on a free in CM,dave van de bergh LW on free and lastly kurt elshot RB on a free, id suggest replacing some staff also for betta ones

i had LB/RB on support, purse CB as stopper and shane CB lowry as cover
i had van de bergh LW supporting mid and mcdermot RW attacking winger cutting in,had 2 CM supporting oconnor and ulises de la cruz with the later slighty more attacking
had tudgay as target man attacking and morrison advanced forward

team instructions was stick to position/man marking/stand off more/tackling more aggresive, creative default and passing default. balanced philosphy starting with standard then control when i scored
i conceded the less goals all season and scored loads plus finished with i think 90 points, peterborough piped me to the post for 1st they are very good in tht league full of pace n skill.

newayz gd luck just thought id try n giv some advice on my experience with wednesday this edition, ive now stopped playing and waiting till patch 11.3 b4 i start again proper dont wana do well then have start again with nxt patch, gunna work on a wednesday skin and if got time a betta sound patch :D

Tactics aside - get some players sold! You get get decent money for Potter, Tudgay, Beevers and Spurr - and in most cases get a better player with the money to replace. Jay Demerit is a MUST for anyone playing Champ or big League 1 club. And Leigh Griffiths!

wouldnt sell tudgay hes a great target man and scores plenty, beevers is worth keeping hold of and spurr is a vital backup but i do agree selling potter you should get at least 150k-200k for him, with my above post you do not need much money with the loan and free players

Ive never been that much of a Fan of Tudgay IRL for the last year, so I guess me selling him has much to do with that! However, if selling him, Beevers and Spurr means that you can buy Leigh Griffiths, then its well worth it!
