Taking "Bayer Neverkusen" To The Top

Bayer Leverkusen
At the start of the decade, Leverkusen were consistenly finishing in the top four of the Bundesliga and played in the memorable Champions League final against Real Madrid in 2002. However, after losing top players, Leverkusen have drifted through the last half a dozen seasons finishing top half in the league but not challenging for the title. Top players such as Michael Ballack, Ze Roberto, Juan and Lucio have all played for Leverkusen but left. Leverkusen play their football at the Bay Arena which have an approx capacity of 30,000.

However, Leverkusen's future looks more promising as they have aquired many promising players.

LEVERKUSEN NEWS
Rumours have been sounding around Leverkusen that Jupp Heynckes days as manager of Bayer Leverkusen may be ending. Heynckes guided Leverkusen to 9th place last year which left many fans dissapointed. Definitive news to follow.​

Good luck pal. Will be interesting seeming that there is only one other bundesliga story on the site (as i know of) and that is epic.

I will be following as long as it is a nice, readable layout.

August 2009 Update
Leverkusen Vs Dortmund

A fantastic start to the season! We managed to control possession and completely outplay Dortmund. I am playing 4-2-3-1 with Renato, Barnetta and Kroos playing behind Derdiyok which seems to be working well. ​

Before the start of this match, I was confident of a win but when Marco Reus scored after 6 minutes I was unsure. We created plenty of attempts and dominated possession so its annoying that we lost.​

Admittedly this was the first match of the season we deserved to lose. I felt we would struggle before hand and we never really imposed ourselves on the game. Although, yet again we created chances and hit the post twice!​

Leverkusen Vs Bochum

A good solid win against Bochum, we completely dominated possession and Derdiyok took his chances to bag us a victory. If this month has told me anything its that I need to improve my chance conversion especially in away matches.​


Player of the month is Renato Augusto. The 21 year old has been playing as a right winger and has been outstanding assisting and scoring this month. ​

love german football so good to see a bundesliga story. you forgot to mention sami hyypia as a key player! absolute rock.
check out mine too if you can, doing a challenge where i manage in all the top divisions starting with france xD
but anyway ,keep it up!
 
I like the incorrect Bayer spelling.. You could say you're comparing them to Bayern Munich who unlike Bayer have had a bit more success? Hah
 
Good luck with that. Certainly a team with a lot of potential and a few world-class players.

Stuttgart Vs Leverkusen

A very close game was expected and it is exactly what we got. Leverkusen dominated possession(again) but Stuggart had twice as many attempts which may have been the decisive factor.

A ridiculously infuriating match, both sides played terribly. I really expected to win this match but we never played to our potential. Renato Augusto couldn't play in this match, he has a pulled hamstring.

Augsburg Vs Leverkusen

I fielded a second team in the cup and we made it very difficult. Luckily, after making subs we managed to win the match in extra time.

A great win for Leverkusen in a very tight match. First half goals from Barnetta and Derdiyok were enough to secure victory.

A very average month, I can't say im dissapointed with it but I'm not impressed either. Player of the month is Tranquillo Barnetta for his overall play and creativity. ​

I'm sorry but I won't be carrying on this story. I thought i would enjoy the german league but because i don't know most of the players i've found it boring. Please could a mod close this thread.
