Johnstone Paint Trophy

Leeds United 4-1 Darlington
Darlington+v+Leeds+United+Carling+Cup+4lnBiZCQ_0Nl.jpg

An expected win from a strong Leeds United side in The Johnstone Paint Trophy. Bradley Johnson struck first for the Leeds side. Darlington responded positively and got one of their own in the 14th minute. The went into the break at 1-1. The next goal came in the 65th minute from substitute Jermaine Beckford. Febian Brandy played his 1st game for the club and got on the scoresheet in the 76th minute with Jermaine Beckford adding to Darlington's pain.

Attendance: 6473

Southend 0-2 Leeds United

article-1165691-0428BFFE000005DC-567_468x597.jpg

Leeds United take their unbeaten streak to 6 league games with a 2-0 win over a strong Southend team.A boring 1st half at Roots Hall saw the teams go into the break at 0-0. The first goal fell to Robert Snodgrass in the 79th minutes who tucked it away for Leeds. On the 83rd minute Leeds caught Southend sleeping and Jermaine Beckford pounced onto the chance to tuck away a one on one.

Attendance: 7564

Leeds United 0-1 Stockport

_45077749_peterthompson_getty226.jpg

His late 75th minute goal saw Stockport ease past Leeds

A result which Leeds should wake up from. Peter Thompson's 75th minute goal saw Stockport win away from home at Elland Road. Sam Barrell and his men should be wondering why they couldnt win this game. "We had enough chances, but couldn't put them away" said manager Sam Barrell when talking to LUTV.

Attendance: 22694

Leeds United 0-1 Gillingham

4534872240_d12435f769.jpg

Gillingham did well to see off Leeds but the result could have gone the other way but yet again manager Sam Barrell is having troubles getting his players to produce in the last quarter of the pitch. The only goal came from Chris Shuker in the 4th minute. Leeds pay for not taking their chances.

Attendance: 23,927

MK Dons 0-2 Leeds United

Luciano-Becchio-goal-celeb-Leeds-v-Huddersfie_2425057.jpg

Luciano strike again twice in the meeting with MK Dons. Leeds put on a classy performance and put the recent results behind them and concentrate on the game in hand. Becchio struck in the 19th and 39th minute sinking the Dons who seemed like they just couldn't do anything to stop him.

Attendance: 10,429

Leeds United 6-1 Carlisle

Jermaine_Beckford_2_967848a.jpg

In the last game of September Leeds took on Carlisle, but I dont think anybody was expecting a 6-1 victory. With Becchio striking in the 3rd minute put Leeds onto a flyer then 2 minutes later Beckford tucked one away to put Leeds 2-0 up. 10 minutes later Beckford snatched another. In the 36th minute Gradel got on the scoresheet with a powerful strike into the top corner. 3 minutes later Leeds were deserved a penalty. The Carlisle players didn't think it was worthy of a penalty but was definately shown by the replay. Beckford stepped up and calmly put it into the right bottom corner. At the break Leeds were 5-0 up. Surely they were happy with that, obviously not because 2 minutes later Gradel picked out another goal. Leeds seemed to go queit after that with Shan Higgs making some brilliant saves but Carlisle finally got past, Stephen Elliot with the goal.

Charlton-HOME
Rotherham-AWAY-Johnstone Paint Trophy 2nd Round
Norwich-HOME
Millwall-AWAY
Bristol Rovers-AWAY

Coca Cola League One

Leeds United 3-2 Charlton

charlton4592match1.jpg

A well fought battle from both sides at Elland Road with Leeds coming out on top. Becchio struck in the first 30 seconds of the game breaking a new record. 3 minutes later it was Beckfords turn who smashed the ball straight into the bottom corner. Charlton were not down and out just before half time Mooney got one back for the away side.Becchio showed why he was getting praise from ex Leeds star David Batty and Lucas Radebe when he got his second of the game. The teams went into the break at 3-1 to the home side. 7 minutes later Charlton had hope when McKenzie bursted down the left wing going in and out of defenders and tucking in the far corner. Leeds are surely happy with that result giving their promotion race a real go.

Jonathan Howson out for 6-7 weeks
Stephen Wright out for 3 weeks

Johnstone Paint Trophy

Rotherham 1-0 Leeds United

Nicky-Law-Rotherham-United_2384812.jpg

Nicky Law sinks Leeds

Rotherham entertained Leeds at the Don Valley Stadium in the 2nd round of The Johnstone Paint Trophy. Leeds were having injury troubles missing their captain Jonathan Howson and right back Stephen Wright. Leeds will pay for not taking their chances. Febian Brandy failed to find the net and Sam Barrell
released that he is not interest in signing Febian permanently. Despite Nicky Law's strike manager Sam Barrell came out of the game smiling. We questioned his why he was so happy despite going out of the Paint Trophy he said "Now we can concentrate on the league and we are only in the FA Cup so we don't suffer any uneeded injuries".

Coca Cola League One

Leeds United 3-1 Norwich

article-0-06E2F5B0000005DC-156_468x286.jpg

A nice easy win for Leeds at Elland Road pushing their promotion race even further. Beckford tucked away in 12th and 53rd minute for Leeds. Snodgrass also got on the scoresheet just before half time. Nonda got a consulation goal for Norwich but Leeds were the better side.

Millwall 4-2 Leeds

leeds-vs-Milwall.jpg

It all kicked off at The Den in the promotion race with Millwall sitting in 1st place and Leeds in 2nd what a game it was! Leeds lacked in defence and a bad tackle by the Millwall player turned into a huge brawl on the pitch. Leeds went into the break 2-1 down. Harris struck for Millwall in the 63rd minute. Leeds were given a penalty in the 83rd minute. Beckford tucked it in the left corner. 1 minute later Millwall told Leeds why their top of the league when Harris struck again.

Bristol Rovers 0-1 Leeds United

901354481-11082009122303.jpg

Leeds got a deserved win over Bristol Rovers with Bradley Johnson sweetly striking a volley into the top corner. The goal came on the 59th minute giving Leeds a lifeline after suffering a heavy loss by Millwall the week before. Surely this result will push Leeds further.

Ben Parker out for 3 weeks
