Following the disbanding of the 114 year old Brescia Calcio due to financial troubles that had prevented them from entering Serie C, Union Brescia was born! A Phoenix club born from the ashes of the original Brescia and a neighboring club named Feralpisalo.

This save will be an opportunity to write history for this incredibly young club, and hopefully give the team’s supporters highs similar to those that Brescia alumni like Pep Guardiola and Andrea Pirlo were able to reach elsewhere.

SEASON 1

The fans at the 19000 seater Mario Rigamonti are expecting playoffs from us, and I intended to make that happen. My first act as manager was to bring in some experienced talent.

Two former Italy internationals, Angelo Ogbonna and Roberto Soriano both came in on free transfers to help us in the short term with our promotion bids. I tried to bring in Mattia De Sciglio but at 15 grand a week his wages were a bit beyond us.

Following those transfers the media predicted us to finish 3rd, with 5-2 odds of winning the title. Playoffs are what the board are demanding, but I am hoping we can compete for the title in order to secure automatic promotion. Serie C is divided into Serie C/A, C/B, and C/C, with the league winners going up and a large playoff tournament to determine the 4th team to get promoted into Serie B. I'd rather avoid all that and add the first piece of silverware to this young club's cabinet.

This is the tactic we will be using this season, a tiki taka 343/523 however you look at it. We're a lot better on paper than the vast majority of the teams in this diviision so I'm hoping to be able to control possession and dominate games.

FIRST HALF OF THE SEASON

At the halfway point we're sitting in 4th, five points off the title. We also saw early eliminations from the Serie C cup and the Italian Cup preliminary rounds.

Our two star players so far have been Stefano Gori and on loan Elia Giani from Pisa. We've kept 7 clean sheets largely thanks to Gori and Giani has contributed 11 goals and 6 assists so far. They could both easily play in the division above so hopefully they'll be a large part of us working to get there in the second half of the season.

Season 1 ends with us gaining promotion to Serie B, as we win the first trophy in Union Brescia history!

SEASON 2
The work to prepare for Serie B began immediately as I made a staggering 11 signings, spending a total of 35k, as 10 of them would be free transfers or loans.

David Odogu comes in on loan from AC Milan to strengthen our aging backline.

Mario Maroto came in on loan from Bologna to hopefully be a creative and goalscoring threat in our midfield.

Papetti came in from Reggiana.

With Giani going returning to his parent club I felt we needed to strengthen our striking options, and the first of those as Nicola Rauti on a free after being released by Torino.

Piani takes the number 1 shirt as he becomes Gori's backup in goal.

Chuki from Juventus looks like he has all the tools to succeed in attacking midfield, or even as a potential striking option.

Much of the same can be said for 19 year old Barido in on loan from Napoli.

The one transfer that actually cost us was 36 year old Mario Balotelli, coming in for 35k.

Cistana gives us comfortable center back depth.

Birindelli comes in as the dream right back that I probably should've sought for last season.

Our final signing Frabotta matches him on the other flank.

This is more or less how we will line up for this year. I wanted to play 2 strikers as we didn't have quality wingers for this level.

On January 1st this is how the table looks, we sit in 9th place. 2 points off of a potential spot in the promotion playoffs. I was only hoping to finish midtable this season but it seems we may have a shot at Serie A sooner than expected!
