WATFORD SACK JOKANOVIC!

SlavisaJokanovicre_3317941b.jpg

Despite leading the club back to the Premier League, Slavisa Jokanovic has been sacked by Watford FC. Jokanovic led the club to a 2nd place finish behind League Champions Bournemouth, but has become Watford's 4th managerial casualty this season.

Getafe manager Quique Flores has been placed as odds-on favourite to replace Jokanovic. But with the high number of managerial changes at Watford, Flores may be put off from the role.

One name linked to the job, that has surprised the fans, is that of Adam Seekings. Seekings is new to the management scene and has declared his desire to take the managerial role, but with odds of 500/1, it seems as though the bookies believe he will be a last resort for the club.

WATFORD ANNOUNCE NEW MANAGER!

Watford FC have just announced that the new manager, who will lead the club forward in the Barclays Premier League, is Adam Seekings. Managing Director Scott Duxbury has told Sky Sports News that despite Seekings' lack of managerial experience, the club had confidence in the newcomer to succeed. We managed to get a few words from the new manager after this announcement was made.

SSN: You sit her today, the new manager of Watford FC. How are you feeling?

AS: Honestly, I cannot believe it. I never expected to be considered for the job, let alone be named manager. But I feel great, and I'm looking forward to the season ahead.

SSN: What are your main aims for this season? What are you looking to achieve?

AS: Well, our main aim is to stay in the Premier League. That's what the fans will be expecting. But it is going to be a huge challenge. There are a number of big teams in this league, and we will have to perform at our very best to get where we want to be.

SSN: It has been rumoured that you are already looking into bringing in a couple of new faces to the club. Can you give us any information on these potential signings?

AS: I have got a few names in mind for who I am looking to sign, but until we make a formal approach, I wont be disclosing any other details.

SSN: Thank you for your time, and good luck.

Very good preseason for the club. 4 wins out of 6 puts us in a good mindset heading into the first game of the season. Star player during preseason was Troy Deeney. 7 goals, including 2 hat-tricks, from the striker makes me think he will do well this season.

Matt Lowton has signed on loan to cover as backup from Paredes, whilst Pacheco arrives at the club to be our new backup goalkeeper.

AUGUST RESULTS: GREAT START FOR THE HORNETS!

View attachment 261722
Incredible start to the season. Goals from Pudil, Vydra and Anya gave us a comfortable 3-0 lead going into half-time. Daniel Sturridge pulled 2 goals back, but we held on to record a well earned victory.

2 wins out of 2. Another amazing performance against a Sunderland team who never seemed like scoring. Matej Vydra scored his second of the season, giving us a 1-0 lead at half-time, before our star of preseason, Troy Deeney, put the result beyond doubt just after the start of the second half. Sunderland's job wasn't made any easier after Vergini was sent off for a second bookable offense.

View attachment 261720
Next up, we had a Capital One Cup tie against Dag & Red. Gave a couple of big names a rest in this game, and still managed to come away with a victory. Vydra, Tozser and Pudil all scoring in the first half to seal the victory. We get a bigger challenge in the next round, as we are drawn against West Brom away.

Disappointing result to put an end to our incredible start to the season. Neither team looked like scoring in this game. Tottenham were given a controversial penalty after Ekstrand was judged to foul Harry Kane. Lamela stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way to give his team the win.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH!

Player of the month has to go to Matej Vydra. The loanee from Udinese made an amazing start to the season, scoring 3 goals in 3 games.

Our amazing start to the season sees us end August sat in 6th place in the table, level on points with both Arsenal and West Brom. Biggest surprise has to be Liverpool ending the month in 12th place, with just 1 win out of 3.

INJURY BLOW FOR WATFORD!

16512.jpg

Watford have announced today that star striker Troy Deeney has been ruled out for up to 6 weeks. Latest reports coming from the club have said the the player has suffered a sports hernia during a training session. The manager had this to say.

'Losing Troy to injury isn't an ideal situation for the club. He has performed well during the opening games, and we have a tough task in replacing him. But I believe in the players we have here, and believe that whoever gets the opportunity to play with serve us well going forward.'

With Deeney's place in the team up for grabs, Seekings has a big job to decide which player will replace Deeney in the coming weeks. Idion Ighalo, Fernando Forestieri and Diego Fabbrini will be looking to impress their manager before their next game against Stoke City.

A great first month for you there mate! should make youu feel confident going forward but unlucky with Deeney's injury but im sure Ighalo and Vydra can do well for ya

SEPTEMBER: UNBEATEN IN THE LEAGUE!!

View attachment 261594
Another great result in the Premier League for Watford. Odion Ighalo came in to the team to replace Deeney, and played really well. N'Zonzi got the opening goal of the game, but Stoke seemed to switch off after that. Ighalo's two goals either side of half time sealed our third league victory of the season.

View attachment 261593
We headed into this game as clear underdogs, but my god, we proved everyone wrong. Vydra scored his first of the game against the run of play, and we held on to the lead until half-time. Chelsea came out in the second half and piled on the pressure, getting a goal through Ramires to level the scores. Just when the game looked to be finishing a draw, Vydra scored his second goal, two minutes before full time to get us an amazing win over title hopefuls Chelsea.

View attachment 261590
Capital One Cup time again, and we came up against a strong West Brom side. Everything went according to plan in the first half with Ighalo scoring his third goal in 3 games, but in the second half, our defence fell to sleep and were punished. Anichebe pulled a goal back for West Brom before Berahino scored 2 in 10 minutes to give West Brom a 3-1 lead. Ighalo scored his second goal to set up a tense final 10 minutes before Berahino completed his hat-trick to put the result out of reach.

View attachment 261588
We headed into the game against Norwich looking to bounce back from our exit in the Capital One Cup, and got off to an incredible start as Ighalo scored in the opening 5 minutes and managed to hold on to our lead until half time. Despite Norwich starting the second half stronger, Ikechi Anya scored the winner and put the game to bed.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Player of the month has to go to Odion Ighalo. The Nigerian striker has stepped up to the mark in the absence of Troy Deeney, scoring 5 goals in his last 4 games.

After ending the month unbeaten in the league, we see the club climb two places to 4th, only 1 point behind league leaders Manchester United.

A great first month for you there mate! should make youu feel confident going forward but unlucky with Deeney's injury but im sure Ighalo and Vydra can do well for ya

Thanks mate. Really pleased with how the team is performing. Can already tell that it's gonna be difficult to get Deeney back in the side with how well Ighalo and Vydra are playing. Just hope we can keep this run going, would love to get a top 10 finish but got to keep playing like we are.

Another good month mate :)

If you have time, check my ones out

I posted one recently and my other save is a QPR one

OCTOBER: DISAPPOINTING MONTH FOR THE HORNETS!

View attachment 261581
Another win over a top Premier League side. An early goal from Gardos gave Southampton a deserved lead, but we fought back and got an equalizer through Tozser. Odion Ighalo continued his amazing goalscoring form with another 2 goals to seal the victory.

View attachment 261580
Big game against another top side in the league. We got off to an incredible start as Kolarov fouled Anya in the box, and Ben Watson slotting home the penalty. The difference in class started to show though as City scored a quickfire double through Aguero to give City the lead. City dominate the match from there and, despite having Demichellis sent off for a second booking, Dzeko scored to give City the win. Troy Deeney made his return from injury in this game, but didn't perform for us.

View attachment 261579
Going in to this game against Villa, we looked to try and regain our early league form with a win. Things looked good for us early on, and we were rewarded as Pudil scored just before halftime. Our lead didn't last long as Anya scored an own goal less than a minute later. Andi Weimann scored Villa's second just after half time and, despite dominating the remainder of the game, we just couldn't find an equaliser.

Just to make the result hurt that little more, Almen Abdi suffered a broken leg in the match and will be out of action for the next 6 months.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Ikechi Anya is our player of the month for October. Anya created numerous chances from the right hand side, and was unfortunate to score the own goal. Ighalo was a close second, but his performances against City and Villa helped the final decision.

Despite the team losing 2 of the 3 games, we still ended the month sat in 5th position, level on points with Tottenham and Man City.

Considering who you faced, I would say thats a good month for you

Considering who you faced, I would say thats a good month for you

I agree with you 100%. I only say it was disappointing due to the fact that the way we played in the two defeats, we should have got a better result. I never expected to beat City, but we had dominated Villa all game and still lost. And to top that off, we lost Abdi to injury for 6 months, which leaves us a little short for cover at CM.

NOVEMBER: GOALS GALORE!
View attachment 261527

Good result for the side against a strong Everton side. Both teams had a number of opportunities in the first half, but it was Watford who went in to the break in the lead, after Odion Ighalo scored in the 43rd minute. Everton came out fighting in the second half, but were unable to take their chances. As the game got closer to full time, and Watford looking all but certain of the victory, Besic scored with the final kick of the game.

View attachment 261526
Newcastle dominated the first half, and thoroughly deserved their 3-0 lead heading into half time. Goals from Riviere, Ameobi and Coloccini gave them the lead. We tried to make a comeback in the second half, and looked like doing so, with goals from Deeney and Pudil either side of a second from Riviere making it 4-2. But the comeback was buried by the 76th minute as Coloccini scored his second, and Riviere completed his hat-trick to make it 6-3 to Newcastle. Paredes scored his first goal for the club in the 81st minute, but it was only a consolation.

View attachment 261525
Another game against a side aiming for the title. Danny Welbeck got Arsenal off to a flyer before Vydra equalised. Per Mertesacker regained the lead for Arsenal, and took them into half time 2-1 up. We came out strong in the second half, making numerous chances, but were punished when Giroud scored Arsenals' third goal. Welbeck sealed the win with his second of the game, before Mertesacker scored an own goal to make it 4-2.

View attachment 261524
We finally got back to winning ways in this game. Palace were struggling for form away from home, and we capitalised on that. 2 goals from Ighalo gave us a well deserved, and overdue, victory in the league.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Troy-Deeney-008.jpg

Deeney is named player of the month for October after coming back from injury, and working his way back into the side. Despite only scoring 2 goals this month, he was involved in every other aspect of the game, from defending to creating chances for the team.

After winning 4 points from a possible 12, we slip down the table to 7th place, level on points with Liverpool.

WATFORD MANAGER SIGNS NEW CONTRACT!
shutterstock_72368845-449x300.jpg

Watford FC have just announced that manager Adam Seekings has signed a new 2-year contract with the club. Despite only having been in the job for 5 months, Seekings has seemingly done enough in that time to convince the board to give him a new contract. Seekings' new contract will now expire in 2017.

Managing Director Scott Duxbury had this to say.
'We are very pleased to announce that Mr Seekings has agreed a new deal with the club. After speaking to the manager, he reiterated his desire to stay at the club, and work with the club to take us to that next level. We have been impressed with the leadership qualities that he has shown us since his arrival, and decided that he be given a new contract before other clubs come in for him.'

Manager Adam Seekings gave us his view on this announcement.
'I am really pleased to be staying on as manager of this club. I believe we can exceed expectations, and prove that we are more than a Championship side, and that we deserve to be in this league. I am really looking forward to seeing what the future brings for this club, and working with some of the talented youngsters that are coming through our youth system. But for now, I want to concentrate on keeping our amazing start of the season running.'

Great start! Deeney is a brilliant player and always has been. What skin are you using and where from

DECEMBER: ANOTHER GOOD MONTH FOR WATFORD!

View attachment 261328
Very boring first half in this game, as nothing eventful happened. Jordi Amat gave Swansea the lead with a header from a Dyer corner. Ikechi Anya got a goal back for us, before scoring his second of the game. Another match where we looked like we had won was spoiled by a foul by Ekstrand in the penalty area. Ki Sung-Yeung scored the penalty to give Swansea a share of the points.

View attachment 261325
A good result against 19th placed Leicester City. Ben Watson got us off to a flyer, before Vydra scored our second to give us a comfortable 2-0 lead going into half time. Vydra popped up again to score his second and put the result out of reach. Andrej Kramaric scored a consolation goal for Leicester, but we managed to hold on to the lead, and get the win.

View attachment 261323
A pretty even game between the two sides. Pudil scored for us after 6 minutes, giving us a 1-0 lead until Stewart Downing's equaliser on the 77th minute. Both teams had chances to score more, but neither team could find the back of the net.

View attachment 261321
We came up against West Brom in our next game, the same team that knocked us out of the Capital One Cup at the start of the season. We came out the strongest and started incredibly, with Vydra and Ighalo scoring within 10 minutes to gives us an early lead. Ighalo scored his second after 38 minutes to all but seal the victory. West Brom got a goal back through Berahino, but despite their best efforts, couldn't replicate their cup heroics.

View attachment 261318
We headed in to the game against league leaders Manchester United expecting nothing from the game, but were surprised by United's lack of scoring chances. Van Persie scored their only goal of the game, before Dani Pudil got the equaliser.

View attachment 261315
We rested a few players for the game against bottom of the league Bournemouth, and were punished for doing so. Kermogant scored the only goal of the game, in what was a lackluster performance by both teams.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH
367753_1.jpg

Player of the month for December could have gone to a number of players, but Matej Vydra did enough to convince me to give it to him. 3 goals from the striker puts him as our second highest goalscorer of the season so far, 3 goals behind Odion Ighalo.

We ended the first half of the season in 6th place, level on points with Southampton. We are performing way better than expected, and the future definitely looks good if we can keep this form going all season.

Great start! Deeney is a brilliant player and always has been. What skin are you using and where from

Cheers mate. Deeney has done well, but could perform better for me. Not really done enough to make me think otherwise. I am using the FMTema White skin. You can download it from here

December is generally a tough month but you had a good one and a great place to be after the first half of the season

JANUARY: WATFORD'S CUP RUN CONTINUES!
View attachment 260741
Another shock victory for Watford as they do the league double over Liverpool. Odion Ighalo scored the first goal of the game on 34 minutes, before Pacheco put the ball into his own net on the stroke of half time. Despite dominating the second half, Liverpool couldn't find a goal, and were punished when Daniel Pudil rounded the keeper in the last minute to give Watford the win.

View attachment 260740
We played a strong Birmingham side in the FA Cup 3rd round, and managed to come away comfortable winners. Pudil scored his second goal in 2 games just before half time to give Watford the lead. Watford came out the strongest in the second half and were rewarded after Paul Caddis fouled Ben Watford in the box. Tozser stepped up and scored the pentaly giving Watford a 2 goal lead. Lee Novak pulled one back for the visitors, before Ighalo sealed the win in the 91st minute. This was Ighalo's last game before leaving for the African Cup of Nations with Nigeria.

View attachment 260739
We went in to this game looking to continue our great form in the league. Both sides created numerous chances in the first half, but neither team could score. Joel Ekstrand got sent off for a second booking just before half time, which changed the whole complexion of the game. Sunderland took advantage of having the extra man in the second half, and scored their first goal after Seb Larsson scored from 20 yards out. Vergini sealed the win for Sunderland 4 minutes later from the penalty spot, after Angella fouled Jermain Defoe in the area.

View attachment 260738
After a dismal first half for both teams, Tottenham came out after the break looking for the win. Nacer Chadli scored Tottenham's first goal in the 63rd minute after a great run down the left wing. Matej Vydra equalised for Watford before a brace from Erik Lamela gave Tottenham a well earned victory.

View attachment 260737
We headed into this game on the back of two straight defeats, and decided to rest a few of our key players. Ikechi Anya scored after 13 minutes to remove any pre-match jitters that the team had about losing. Troy Deeney scored his first goal in a long time to seal the victory after the half time break.

View attachment 260736
Another game where either side could have won, but neither side could take any of their chances. Watofrd got off to the brigher start with Watson shooting just wide after 3 minutes. Stoke fired back not long after, but Gomes made a great save to deny Bojan from getting the opener. The second half started exactly the same as the first, with both sides trying to find the goal that would win the game, with no luck.

View attachment 260734
We headed into this game against league leaders Chelsea expecting to get nothing out of it, and we were right. Despite early pressure from Watford, Salvio scored Chelsea's first after 21 minutes. Cesc Fabregas made it 2 for Chelsea less than a minute later, before putting the result beyond doubt on the 39th minute. Matej Vydra pulled a goal back just before half time, but it turned out to be a consolation.

PLAYER OF THE MONTH

After a number of good performances from the midfielder Ben Watson is named Player of the Month for January. Watson has played brilliantly for the team all season, and finally gets the recognition he deserves.

After gaining just 4 points from a possible 15, Watford sliped down the table to 8th place, level on points with Man City.
