Target Man - Budget 10m - Everton - Season 1

Hi guys,

I'm currently looking for a TM for my Everton squad. I sold Cahill (12.5m) and traded Anichebe for Eriksen (no extra money) so now I have Stracqualursi on loan (his stats don't look too bad) and Vellios (doesn't look too good atm) that can fill this role. I allready have Sanogo on loan and i want to try and sign him on a free after the first season. That being said, I looked through various threads and started scouting a couple of players. Atm I think I'll either go for Lacina Traore (7.5m accepted) or Tomas Necid (9.5m accepted) but i have no previous experience with any of them. Necid looks awesome but i have no idea how much potential he has. I found Traore in the CA/PA thread (if you're interested in his PA go look for yourself, I don't want to spoil it for the people that don't want to know).

So has anyone had any of these 2 players and what are your thoughts on them? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

are you looking for a fairly young one or just one that will fit the bill for 1-3 years or whatever? and the one time i bought tomas necid he didn't really work out for me. although i did have a good strike force already so that might of bin why i didn't think much of him
 
Well these are quite young, but an older player will do as well. I tried to get Cardozo but he wouldn't even discuss a contract with me. (I am Everton after all) And as far as Wilfried goes, I know he is a really good player, but for one he is really injury prone and he isn't quite the tall TM I had in mind. Thx for the reply though. :-)
 
humberto suazo - i find he does OK as a target man although he's not brilliant
kenwyne jones - again not brilliant but does the job
only 2 that i can think of at the minute will put more up if/when i think of some.
yours a probably better than these though
 
You seen how much Brum will let Zigic go for? Granted he is no spring chicken, but he will probably be ok for two seasons. Zamora can be bought for 4 million. Here are some more obscure ones to scout:

Libor Kozak
Marc Janko
Salomon Rondon* (class, depends how much though)
Andrea Caracciolo
Kevin Kuranyi (maybe too high profile for everton but never know)
 
I don't think you can afford Rondon - I'm playing Malaga and I've sold him after the 1st season for 20mil € :D But he was ok, while replacing van Nistelrooy. I don't know Necid, but I've played Lacina Traore in the previous FM - he was awesome, but I think he is much weaker in FM 2012.

I like players, who can improve much, so I'd recommend:
1. Mbaye Niang - bought him recently for about 4mil € - he's not perfect, sometimes plays selfish and has only 10 in passing.
2. Yaya Sanogo - he's even weaker in passing than Niang, but is able to finish more often.
3. Errick Torres - he's a beast, but he's not to tall - only 180cm. Anyway he scores like a machine, got to get him.
4. Borja (Sochaux) - got him in Malaga, but he's not owning.. I think he can develope into nice target/complete striker though.

PS. Remember one thing - many people think that if they have target striker or complete striker they have to play "high towers" in front - it's not truth! Everything depends on suplying the ball - if you play short passes, I'd prefer to have Errick Torres than Lacina Traore.

Daniel Sturridge (I got him on a free at the start of the third season), he's got 8 in 6, I think. Although, he probably should be played as a poacher...

I am in my 2nd season with Arsenal and I sold Chamakh to Everton early on in the season. I let him go cheap because I don't play with a target man. Everton is now 2nd place in the premier league 20 games. Chamakh is the league top goal scorer.

If this isn't too much of a bargain I suggest you buy him.
 
You should try Sturridge but he is poacher,
yeah i think you just need to maximize your own player's
