Sure, basically each player who signs up at first is a free agent, its basically organised team play, if I sign you with a contract of x amount of wages you are part of my team and I record your rating/performance in league games and input into the website
Their are leagues e.g premiership, championship, superleague
If you play ST for me for example as Im vilareal in matches you would control Nilmar/Altidore/Rossi

There is a PM service, forums chatbox and a transfer market of players/free agents (gamertags)
