Hello All,
Let me introduce to you my latest tactic, called Team Spirit. The name is after the fact that the team is playing like one robust unit both defensive and attacking and is able to react to the actual match situation. The formation is a 4-1-4-1, which might be too defensive at the first look, but it's more about stability and this shape is very effective when it comes to attacks.
Defence
The D-line is set slightly higher and this is well balanced with the many deep positions. As a result doing through balls will be much harder for the opponents. We are closing down more, but without get stuck in instruction and the number of yellow cards won't be too much. Offside traps are used, this fits the concept completely. We have 1 FB on attack duty, just to confuse the opposition. He won't venture too far away but is adding an additional dimension to the back four.
Attack
During build ups we are heavily using the flanks, the tempo is higher and this combined with the mixed directness results in nice mid-long balls and short passing also. The wide midfielders are on attack duty, they will cause a constant threat by the crosses/passes, but also will scoring some goals. I suggest to use opposite footed players here. If they are not 100% familiar with this position, just train them. The central mids are on support and attack, which again gives an extra dimension here, but also grants the second wave around the penalty area. The lone striker is a F9, since all other roles would isolate him. It works, since he is the main goal scorer. If your striker is not comlpletely fitting the role, don't worry, I only suggest to avoid tank type strikers.
Key passes
As you can see on the below screens, most of the key passes are coming from the middle of the opposition's half, which creates chances to the striker and the wm's.
The versions are Control and Standard
- Control: use for all home matches and on the easy away games where you are the favourite.
- Standard: use away on even matches and where you are the underdog. If you are behind after the first half and don't even have chances, change to Control version. If you are behind, but have the chances, wait for another 15-20 minutes before changing to Control version.
Suggestions
- If the opponent is playing with very high D-line, use the pass into space TI.
- If you are losing at home and there is only 10-15 minutes left, change to Attack or Overload
- When you got a red card, substitue the CMa, not the F9 and change to Standard version
- Do not change the roles!

HOME VERSION
AWAY VERSION
OIs: None.
Training
Put the control version to 2 slots and the standard to the 3rd one at the start of pre season and match tactics as match training. In pre season the general training should be fitness and team cohesion later.
During the season the general training should be balanced and after the tactic is fluid, change the match training to defensive positioning.
Corners
Use the best corner takers and aim to the penalty area.

Team talks
I don't like to complicate things in this area, but I always do it by myself. Actually let the overall team talk done by your assistant, but after you do the positional team talk:
Before the match
- Home always assertively: I have faith...
- Away always calmly: I have faith...
Half time
- If leading by 1 or 2 goals: assertivevely/calmly don't get complacent; if more than 2 you should praise them
- If it's a draw or losing: assertively/calmly show me something else
Full time
- If won than praise them
- If drew or lost then assertively chew them out
During the match
- If you do not have the lead after the 1st half, tell them assertively/calmly to demand more or push forward
- If you have the lead than for the last 20 minutes tell them to concentrate
Praising players
When your player have an average match rating above 7.60 for the last 5 games, you can interact with them and say they recent from is good. Only avoid to praise more then 4 players at the same time (obviously if you are on a winning streak and more then 4 players are red hot, then only praise the best 4) and do not praise the same player in the same month again. At least this is how I am doing things.
Your feedback and screenshots are more than welcome.
