I'm now starting to realise the importance of reputation for team talks to have any positive effect. Actually when you have low/average reputation I think it doesn't give you any advantage to use team talks at all. You really benefit from simply say nothing both at start and at half time. Final team talks are the exception, as they improve improve visibly morale, even if you have low reputation, by simply praise (win) agressive (loss). I'm now in a save using bankrupt Zaragoza (I still have very low reputation) and was really having trouble making the team to perform. Once I started saying NOTHING at start and HT the performances have been really improving and morale climbing!!!

Does anyone had the same experience?

i think differently

i always do team talks as i have mentioned in my tactics post even if its a big or a small club...
1st season teams talks are less effectively responded by team but after the first season the team really respond great to team talks .
so for me team talks are really important

Have been doing great with Zaragoza following my "no initial/HT team talks" philosophy, has you can see in the table, with a pretty average team. But just had a frustrating loss against Getafe at home, after being down to 10 men at 60 min. After that I asked myself if in the next match (HOME) against Deportivo I should use team talks in order to motivate the lads. Well I stuck to my theory and said nothing both at start and at HT. What happened? Just look:

Obviously at the end they got praised!!!
For the record I'm using malte reviseted tweaked by w4anker tactic (http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/attac...v-tc-tweak.tac).

holy ****, what a result, when you say nothing do your players not react? wasnt it fm10 or something and all you had to say was, for the fans before a match and at half time, i think zero sea was using it

When you say nothing players have no reaction whatsoever... they just go on the field and play what they know!!!!

Dimartino do you use the "skip teamtalk" button or dont touch anything?

well I actually just hit SPACE all the way into match, ignoring OI's and Team Talks. Only use Team Talks at the end, to praise or criticize.

Let me just say that I think this aproach might be considered an exploit. In a simulation where you want realism, get no reaction from the players when you say nothing at them is totally unrealistic. If a manager that is supposed to be the player's leader just sits there looking at you, they should get upset right? But No.
But to me and my way of playing FM, it suits me just fine! I always wanted full game experience (don't like FMC) but never was able to make team talks work properly, as I really don't want to loose time analysing what kind of TT works with a particular personality!
I don't say you get worse results using TT's. If you use them like a true master you will probably get better results. But for those who do not wish to waste time: No team talks works like a treat!!! Don't forget final TT are the exception: use them to praise / criticize!

And for those who don't like to handle TT and let it to your assistant manager, don't do it! Even the best Assistant in the world will handle it badly, and get all kind of mixed reactions from the players, resulting in bad morale!! No TT are certainly better than the best of Assistants!!!

I'll test this today, altough it could be just a coincidence because your players have high morale, or maybe the tactic is really good, but i'll test it and post my results.

Did you tested it?

Yeah, I've tested it with sunderland, 10 games, unfortunately it didn't work for me, maybe because I had a **** team, I don't know, raikan's teamtalks work best for me, maybe someone else will test it, altough there seems to be less activity around here, everyone is just waiting for fm 14. :)
