Technical, Mental or Physical Attributes....Which is more important, an experiment

I have searched around the internet and there are plenty of threads debating which type of attribute is most important. There doesn't seem to be a definitive answer. I was thinking of testing it by creating 3 teams full of players with high attributes in each category, and doing the same for each division down to the BSP.

So there would be a team of physical players, a team of technical players, and a team of mental players in each division.

Does anyone with any experience doing this kind of test want to take over, or offer me some advice as to how to make it a valid experiment.

Should I use the same tactic for each team (in which case what formation), or should I use a tactic which best uses the type of players (counter attacking for the physical team, and midfield play with attacking mids for technical etc)

How can I stop the clubs buying and selling players? Take them all over and then holiday?

What is the average CA for each division?

Should I make all the players young, in their prime or a mixture.

What's the best player attributes to go with in the editor? Should I start with 15 for the strong attributes and 10 for the others, or 20 and 5 (it will be scaled down or up by CA)

How many seasons should I simulate? Would it be better to holiday 5 seasons, or the first season 5 times.

What about mental attributes, should I make them all model professionals?

What about positions. Should I make 2 players for each position, or just create a bunch of players who can play anywhere?

Should I scale down all the facilities for the smaller clubs, or just give all clubs the same?

Any other variables that might affect my results?

Should I include a team with a mixture of players?

Thanks,

Well this is a fairly pointless experiment to be honest. Players need a balance of all 3 types. Theres no point having fast and strong players if they cant shoot or pass. And theres no point being good technically if you dont have good mental stats as your players will fall short. Id rather a player be fairly balanced overall. However to be a challenger for trophies your players must be mentally strong so that would be the most important.

As regards if you want to do this you should use the same tactic as plug and play(no shouts). Take over the teams and play the game with them, holidaying wont give the same results.

Having a balance of all 3 is fine if you're playing as Man UTD. But when you take over a small team with no budget and you have to choose between two very poor players, one which is strong physically and one which is strong technically, it would be handy to know which one is more likely to succeed.

As much as we may like to think FM truly mirrors real life football, there's no getting away from the fact that performance is based purely on numbers

maybe the best way to test it would be to create a custom league with just those 3 team in it and control all 3 so that you can eliminate to a certain extent the lack of consitency between the team that aren't being tested.

That's not a bad idea, I don't know how to set up a custom league, but I'm sure there's a guide somewhere
